I've got 8 days on the North island of NZ
And I am struggling to fill them in October.

Auckland
Hobbit town
Day to myself around Taupo
Tongario Hike

Then fucking what?

Bay of Plenty when it's cold?
Drive 6 hours there and back to see Wellington?
Drive a whole day to site Cape Reign?

Struggling lads, help me

I can't find any girls on Interpals, 8 days seems too much on the North island, a lot of driving, not sure why I am going here really.

What's with your burning need to plan everything out in advance? Pull up a map and start cruising along the highway of your choice. Book a room in the nearest town when you're ready to call it a day.

I've always been a spreadsheet traveller guy.

In Korea I had no spreadsheet and didn't leave Seoul for 10 days and just kept waking up late, drinking and hitting the same spots every day, kinda a waste so now we plan, I have some 'unstructured' days though as in the UK every day for 7 weeks was planned but I got a bit burnt out

Why would you spend eight days in the North Island it fucking blows man.

>Auckland
Chinkjeet shithole, not a single thing worth seeing

>Hobbiton
Kind of cool but VERY expensive and the food they put on for you is extremely average and small portions

>Taupo
It’s nice enough, lots of Māori niggers though. They are usually alright but they can get nasty.

>Tongaririo
We have been having a very unseasonably warm winter but I’d still be pretty confident there is still going to be enough ice and snow up the tops that unless you have crampons and shit as well as a little experience you would be very foolish to attempt it.

>Bay of plenty
Eh, again nice enough but won’t blow you away

>Cape Reinga
Pretty interesting place but you won’t spend more than an hour or so there and it’s a drive to get there

The only thing I can really rate that is worth doing is the pinnacles walk, that is pretty sick and the coromandel peninsula is quite nice.

Honestly dude if it’s possible just shitcan the North Island and spend those days in the South Island, it is infinitely superior in every way.

Thanks mate, I'm Aussie the aim was to do two trips one north island and one south island starting with the North. The only thing I have fully planned at the moment is Hobbittown which is payed for and yeah the Tongario hike. It's good to hear that the winter has been warm.

I am only staying in Taupo because I can drive there after Hobbittown and then rest there after Tongario, everything is about Tongario basically. A little bit of snow would be ok but ICE is not ok. I am bringing hiking boots only, reports on the internet say it's always good by labour day weekend and that's 7 days after when I am due to hike it.

Where should I go post Hobbitown and Tongario? Bay of Plenty and Cape Reigna and then call it a day? I still have the 4 open days basically. Commandel looks good, your I will only spend one hour at Cape Reigna is smart because I've been debating if the drive is worth it but it probably is if I get there an just look around and come back...

I have a car for 8 days, I could cancel that or change it and then fly to where, Queenstown I guess?
