/tpg/ /rcg/ - Theme Park & Roller Coaster General
R.I.P. Ride Rockit edition
>Last Thread: >>2808944
>What is this thread? Why are there two companies?
Disney parks were initially founded as a way to celebrate the culture and history of America and provide middle class families with a fun-filled immersive experience. While theme parks are the main focus of these threads (and the title of the general) there is also discussion on other roller coasters & rides, as well as the parks themselves and trip planning too. That's where /rcg/ comes in.
>Can I talk about Disney/Universal parks in this thread?
Absolutely! Disney and Universal are currently competing for the Orlando theme park market and beyond! Universal is opening new resorts all around the US and new continents!

Sad video. I genuinely did enjoy this ride.
What order to you guys recommend hitting the four Disney World parks in a five day trip? We have park hopper tickets so we can be flexible, but we might need Lightning Lane and we'd need to know ahead of time where we're going to reserve our first three rides.

I mean we've got five days so I'm sure we'll be able to do everything we want to do while being able to rest when we need to. I just wondered if anyone had suggestions for what order to visit them.
Is Seven Dwarves Mine Train even worth riding? It looks kind of lame.

It's the kid's playground right next to Dinosaur! in AK.
Great and incredibly well-themed with the structures looking like scaffolding.
Slides are decent, a bunch of interactive effects, and a bug ol' sandbox across the dino skeleton bridge.
Probably second only to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground at Disney MGM for being the best playground disney has built for kids.
Too bad they don't care about kids anymore.
I think the only themed one left is the Space Base in Mission Space, which is basically a 90s Chuck-E-Cheese structure.
Some resorts, (specifically Coronado Springs, Port Orleans, Art of Animation, and Animal Kingdom Lodge) have themed play areas still, but the rest are quite generic.
>>2814847
Assuming full days and staying onsite
Magic Kingdom
Epcot
Animal Kingdom in the morning then back to hotel to rest or hit up Disney Springs
Hollywood Studios in the morning then quick bus to Epcot to eat what you couldn't the first time and watch the night show
Hit up a water park if you're into that or just chill at resort, finish at Magic kingdom
Starting and ending with MK is really the only must-do in my opinion. It's inarguably the primary park. AK and HS are jokes especially if you're visiting within the next several months so there's plenty of opportunity to rest.
>>2814856
I like it more than most people here but obviously not worth the 70minute wait. However between 7D and Tron, 7D is way more tolerable to rawdog the standby. So if you're forced to pick LL between those two do Tron, but still make some effort to ride 7D. In my experience Peter Pan hasn't been so bad lately, it seems to fluctuate.

As a coaster, no. As a dark ride, it’s still kinda lame because it’s one scene with mannequins with screens for faces. The train cars rock from side to side but you don’t really feel it unless you purposely rock it while on the brake run. Just watch it on YouTube.

The list is crap but I think Busch Gardens at “full strength” is better than the MK. It’s just never at full strength. If they could get everything working and put $1-$2 million in infrastructure upgrades and cleanup in addition to something new from that recent survey, I would even consider it a contender for the top park in Florida. At least for somebody like me who loves coasters. They would probably have to bring back the other non-coaster stuff for others to consider it in the running. But we are never going to get this with private equity ownership. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I wish Disney or Universal would acquire the chain.

I can see BGT being a top park for a thoosie, but it will never not be staffed by stoner blacks.
On the subject of staff, is it just me or are ALL Disney quick service joints staffed by clumsy literally-autistic college students? Is the turnaround for employees really bad? It never seems like those places have their shit together.
In general I feel the "Disney customer service is so good and staff are super friendly" meme has run its course. I would bet most of the positive reviews deal with employees who have 'fun' positions. Like the recent top fan-favorite employee award went to a photopass guy.

If you’re a culinary major on their college program, they will most likely stick you in quick service. It’s high turnover. When I was on the college program I had a roommate (for 2 days) and also met another culinary major and both were assigned quick service and they quit right away for false advertising. Only the ones assigned to full service restaurant kitchens stuck around. Those kitchens are all miserable and hot. Cosmic Rays is one of the worst but there are some tight tiny areas (like the place used for tortuga tavern). A huge portion of these college program employees (the men at least) were gay and that still seems to be the case. That Disney customer service and hospitality thing is often a lot of flamboyant gay exuberance

I went to Universal Orlando this week. Here is a list of what sucks at the parks.
>Cat in the Hat is in a state of complete disarray.
Either needs a total revamp or, ideally, to be replaced with a much better ride. The Grinch is still a big money maker for the park and a Mount Crumpet family coaster would fit in that plot of land. Cat in the Hat is gross. It cant even be appreciate ironically like Supercharged. I felt like I needed a shower after riding it. I'm shocked the Seuss estate hasnt given Comcast shit over it. Maybe they dont visit and just cash the royalty checks, but goddamn is it bad.
>Studios is devoid of its soul
Studios was the "ride the movies" park and now it's just a purgatory space for disparate IPs with a mishmash of types of lands, rides, themed spaces, and the old facades from the park's original vision. It's schizophrenia expressed as themed park. You have Diagon Alley which is the prototype for Epic Universe and right next to that is a Fast and Furious ride that takes place in San Francisco despite FAF taking place in LA. The park similarly has a LA area but that area is home to a Jason Bourne stunt show despite the Jason Bourne films taking place in DC and London. Not a single goddamn thing in the whole park cohesively fits. Even The Mummy (the only 10/10 ride there) is duct tape retrofit into a new york city museum because they wanted the Kong building. I dont think the park is fixable without putting several billion into a total overhaul of every area, but at that price just make a new park altogether. If it wasn't for HHN and being next door to Islands, they would be in serious trouble. The next 5 big expansions Universal does need to go here cause there's no reason to visit it unless you're going to HHN and can just ride Mummy then.
Other than that it's just the typical stuff people always point out. Fallon and Supercharged are abysmal but looks like Supercharged is leaving thankfully.

Disney pisses me off so much. They have all the technology, patents, artists and money to make the most mind blowing kino imaginable and they just fuck up the delivery so hard because they dont have a visionary white guy at the top that has a profound love for thematic entertainment. Too much administration and bureaucracy and too many diverse voices pulling it all to a net aggregate of zero improvement.
They just need a fucking dude who has a cool idea and finds the "Rolly Cromp" autist necessary to bring it to life.
A horror BTMRR sounds so fucking kino but I'm 100% confident it's gonna be dogshit purely because of who is quarterbacking the endeavor.

What would you even want from a horror btm? Firstly it sounds stupid, it was never meant to be like that. How many normies are even aware that the trains are technically supposed to be haunted ghost trains? There's definitely room to expand on that "ooo spookyyy" aspect but that's not really horror.

Overall the changes are interesting and it seems to be a good middle ground of slightly spooky but still not too spooky for kids. Just because you're fat with Asperger's don't forget this is a family coaster designed for kids as young as 3. They can't go too far in the horror direction.

I think they charge that much because they have no competition and can get away with it. Dollywood and SDC are $92 but unlike Lagoon you can get a 3 day pass for $132 if you use them in a 5 day period. $122 for 2 days and there is a separate promo for certain days where you can get 2 days for the price of one. Sometimes the waterpark is included. They’re also way better parks than Lagoon. Dollywood is attracting some of the Disney crown (including Disney adults sadly)

When Dragons was synced it was one of the GOATs and Hulk’s first half is anything but boring. It might be the same cookie cutter 90s B&M elements found on Kumba and Kraken but they’re arranged in a very intense and unique order. RRR was pretty boring if not for the music. Even if it beat Fury to having a trebel clef it’s nothing like the one on Fury.

No they aren’t. The launch is cool. No one disputes that. But everything else is just standard Bore&M elements you’ve already ridden 200 times before.
>RRR was pretty boring if not for the music
Well it had music so it wasn’t boring. Plus the lift hill was more exciting than anything on un-synced Dragons or post-launch Hulk.

I don’t even remember this. Is it still there? I remember reading that something peeled off shortly after opening. The only thing I remember was some area where everything was shiny, the lockers that had the aesthetic of these walls, and the launch area which looked and sounded cooler than it was. There is a thread on the coaster subreddit right now arguing if the RnRC launch is the most intense in Florida and most of the replies vehemently disagree and some say Tron is more intense. I think these people are fucking retarded. Even VC doesn’t have the same punchiness despite on paper accelerating faster (if that’s true). RnRC uses LIMs and a catch car and people were saying Pipeline, Tron, and even fucking Slinky Dog were better. I get it if people like the speed boost on Cheetah Hunt, VC, and Stardust. It’s fun. But that’s not what’s being argued here. The industry settled on LSMs but LIMs were punchier

Listen. Fuck you. Okay. Stop being an autistic fucking gatekeeper when it comes to this shit. You were absolutely fucking LYING in the last thread claiming you rode Siren’s Curse and the tilt drop was inferior to a dive coaster because you were “sitting down in a seat” despite the fact that there is no fucking sitting when that thing raises you are out of your seat and dangling by the vest. If you’re in the middle or back you get lifted up and raised. You would know this if you rode it but you pretended you rode it to argue that the sensation was something that it was not. And you said it wasn’t like a drop tower even though there is absolutely a free fall you don’t feel on a dice coaster. So fuck right off. You’re the type who doesn’t admit to being wrong I can tell. So if you were to ride it tomorrow you would still try to argue that your original assertion is correct via some sort of mental gymnastics that even you yourself do not believe.

Because Holiday World has like four coasters which are good but not great besides Voyage, free drinks and hardly anything else to offer.
Knoebels has it all. Two of the best woodies out there, one of the best classic dark rides in the world, one of the best collections of flats in the world and the added bonus of being free admission and in the Poconos making it one of the most picturesque parks. It also feels legitimately like a frozen in time capsule unlike most of the other surviving classic parks which have been modernized in one way or another over the years.

Honestly, it's depressing that Disney has killed virtually all of their themed playgrounds. Those things were my favorite as a kid. I don't understand why people think little Timmy will have more fun waiting in line for Seven Dwarves for 2 hours than running around caves and giant spider webs.

I do agree that they could afford to offer more play areas for kids instead of building fuckin bars everywhere. It's just so stupid that people clap like seals getting sold overpriced alcoholic sugar water. yet they wont shut up about how disney tears down everything that can't sell LLs.
And the treehouse should get an update that adds a real play area at ground level instead of just being a walkthrough attraction. Or at least more interactive elements in the tree itself. Would compliment the nearby misting tiki statues as a place kids want to be

No need to overhaul the ride itself much. Swap Ren for Vader, new videos and you're done.
The rides have always played fast and loose with canon (see the Death Star in the original Star Tours), it would work fine

The land itself is fine and doesn't need a change. If anything it just needs more stuff, another ride and more entertainment offerings that were going to be there until they got cut. I do agree they should just say screw the timeline and throw all the characters out there, I mean Star Tours (goat ride) already jumps around to like 5 different eras on each ride and no one cares because it's fun. People are willing to suspend their disbelief because it's impossible for virtually any theme park land to make any kind of real sense when you really think about it.

I don’t think there’s room in the Disneyland version. There are options at WDW version if they move some of the buildings behind it. I would like to see a Hagrid’s competitor. Either Intamin like Hagrid’s or Vekoma since Vekoma can make something just as good and even smoother. Speeder bikes, which ironically was the inspiration for Hagrid’s. Doesn’t have to be RotJ Endor, they can make it fit their stupid canon. Put some barrel roll inversions on it too so the Disney fags shit themselves in terror for two horrors in line for it. “It goes upside down!!!”
I heard Disney is wondering why their products don't appeal to young men. It's a real mystery.

Even though I hate the boozing of WDW I have to admit this looks really cool.
This gives me faith if Disney ever decided to turn Florida's Tiki Room into a highly themed restaurant. It would be a dumb idea given that one could simply eat at Poly, and Adventureland is half eateries now. However, in a bubble I approve as long as the detail was on the level of this bar and of course the birds were retained and given a new show that plays out overhead.

There is no difference between these parks anymore and it doesn’t make sense. They sell it in table service restaurants, they have unlimited beer and wine at the fireworks dessert buffet, and now they’re building a bar/lounge. So why shouldn’t the Cheshire Cat snack place or Cosmic Rays sell Yuengling or whatever like all the other parks do? It doesn’t make sense. It's as if drinking booze is all that adults do. I just have zero interest in it but it has to seep into everywhere. Like I was kinda getting at with my Tiki room spiel earlier, this effort could be going to other things that need improvement. The Pirates gift shop was not a priority but Disney chose it for money. They did a really good job with it I must admit but they were willing to do so because they knew it was a cash cow.

REVIEW
Mickey Not so Scary Party
Its amazing how much things can change in just a decade. The last time I went to this party, it was really cheap and I was very thin, young and beautiful. Anyhow, I was honestly impressed. Still nobody does it like Disney. Someone really did clean the place up. Everything looks clean. The plants and gardens look wonderful. Tron was amazing. However, I was too big for the bike. It was very jarring to realize that I've let myself go that bad. If you can get over bruised feelings, the seat they have for fatties is actually better than being strapped to the bike. It was a great ride but did feel like China in that they don't care if big people feel comfortable or not.
Its crazy that Space Mountain, a ride made in the 70s or 80s when nobody was fat, can easily fit fatties. I just kept thinking about how my stress and cortisol has been really high this past years and my body can't really take it.
There were a lot of either Portugues and Spanish speakers. I think its really rude to go to another country and then YAP loudly in your language. Hopefully ICE cleans up the problem.
Most guests were VERY polite. These people acted like Christians better than Christians act. Thats why you can't beat Disney. The culture once you step in there is still there. From when Walt was there. Customer Service was top tier. The employees despite low pay are extremely happy. They enjoy working that party. It has music ect. There is nothing like Disney. No other park keeps up with this. And its safe for very little children. Its a shame that so many from corporate are trying to ruin it with Woke.
I was very impressed.
Splash Mountain was now Tiana's Bayou. Admittedly I like the movie so I was kind of happy with the scenes and everything. It teaches people to work hard and appreciate family. I like that it involves a kind hearted black girl. I don't think it was right that Disney worked so hard to exclude blacks. (PT1)

I get it though. Anytime you have a goup that is different, there will be tension. THey left a lot of what was Splash Mountain. The stuff they added was cute. I don't know if it was done tastefully, the replacement of American culture, but it is what it is.
Thunder Mountain is still being renovated, and wasn't open.
Rides were not walk on but the wait times were very good, the way Disney should be.
I felt like the park has been updated for the new generations and that isn't a bad. thing.
One thing I greatly missed were the various dance parties they used to have around the park. They only had one dance party and it was inside of that hamburger place. We didn't go in and my friend said he didn't want to dance with toddlers.
I mostly focused on the rides and got to ride everything I wanted.
Overall it did not have a Halloween Fall feel however. The place looked great, but I think the heat and lack of something made it not feel that way, or even like it was a party.
I'm older so I couldn't help but think about my youth and the things I miss like the shooting gallery. They used to sell fun guns at the pirate shop. Stuff like that. But I think the new stuff is great. I kept wondering what Walt himself would think. The things he'd be impressed by and the things he'd hate...
I kinda wished there were more indoor rides simlilar to Mr Toad. the indoor ride area was extremely popular.
Whoever designed the Snow White ride was a genius. It is a perfect ride.

Busch Gardens where I live has really good wait times. Its such a beautiful park, with pretty gardens. We had a wonderful time when we went. The place looks clean except for the bird area which nearly made me throw up it smelled so bad. I think that the coasters are kinda wild. Its hard for those with very young children or elderly to enjoy the park because they're too much. They do have options like the zoo area but on a hot day I can see why people who are tiny humans or old humans wouldn't find it worth it. You see mostly families with middle school and teens. Disney you see people of all ages, due to the rides that are made for toddlers, ect.

If Magic Kingsom was dry like Dollywood (like it used to be) I would understand your argument. But MK isn’t dry, they just don’t sell it at food service places or at beer stands like they do at all their other parks and all their competitors parks. It doesn’t make sense to leave money on the table. It does nothing for the parks image when they already serve alcohol. Even all you can drink alcohol at the fireworks dessert. It doesn’t make sense when none of the 4 parks have a cohesive independent theme and are basically all extensions of each other. To whine about it is even more childish because it’s already there, it’s not going to become world showcase, the other two parks don’t have that problem. Plus the world showcase problem is highly exaggerated aside from a few obnoxious fsggots wearing matching shirts

I was kinda blown away when I found out just the other day that the guy who ran the DIS podcast which I used to watch a lot many years ago in high school was a gay drug-rapist getting sued by Amex over $1m dollars of fraud
Lately I'm into WDWNT/Tom Corless, he seems real enough but he very much seems like a racist pretending not to be a racist with how he talks about stuff in Frontierland. Like he brought up how supposedly there's a Native American caricature in one of the Big Thunder Mountain peaks and for the life of me I don't see it

I know that. Disney can build bars everywhere and people will eat it up.
And again this Pirates bar isn't even an awful offense, it isn't stealing space from anything important and it looks cool. But I'll probably never step foot in it. The upcoming birdcage bar at Grand Floridian is gonna kill the vibe of that lobby though.

Then what’s your problem? I just want to be able to buy a beer or two at one of the quick service restaurants or a snack place like Cheshire Cafe or a free standing drink stand. Like you can at all the other parks and Disney Springs. It makes no sense not to do this, it’s an opportunity for them to make more money, especially if they make exclusive beers like Animal Kingdom has. They used to have no alcohol at all because Walt wanted it that way at Disneyland (even though Club 33 had alcohol), however, it’s been present for years. That’s the only point I’m trying to make, I don’t care if you don’t drink.

Swiss Family Treehouse isn’t a kids play area and the few areas at Disney pale to what Universal has. Though Universal neutered KidZone its replacement is still better than anything found at Disney. Universal needs these playgrounds more than Disney because they don’t have much of anything under a 42” height requirement and almost nothing under 36” (speaking from experience… the playgrounds were still a hit though)

My big issue is that it is in MK. Everywhere else I understand. When I grew up you did not need security at Disney. Now you do. MK is supposed to be for families and Walt Disney was very Conservative that way. what made Disney so successful was the art and purity of Walt. He wasn't just running a business for money, he was providing happiness and therapy.

He seems to love theme parks but never goes on any ride with even moderate intensity. He passes on coasters unless they're Disney tier and even then I think they scare him. His only personality seems to be from movies he's watched. Maybe he just doesn't have a personality, idk.

Walt had little to nothing to do with the MK at WDW though. Ground was broken for construction of WDW in May of 1967, six months after Walt’s death. The no alcohol policy was honoring his wishes from Disneyland. When Epcot opened they served alcohol because it was a different park concept with an emphasis on international cuisine. Disneyland Paris didn’t offer it at first either but wine is part of local culture so it didn’t go over well and was quickly changed.
MK introduced alcohol with Be Our Guest in 2012 and then to their table service restaurants. It’s been there for 13 years now. Disneyland also introduced it to Blue Bayou and the Cantina in Star Wars land and thus Walt’s wishes are no longer honored anyways. But they still served it during his life at Club 33 so it wasn’t a zero tolerance policy to begin with. Security has always been at the MK, always. My entire life. I remember then in the 80s

I realize now that I'm watching them side by side, that Tiana's Bayou Adventure feels like someone took a child picture book and turned it into a ride.
Tiana: Louis is up ahead! Let's find a band for our celebration! Turn the page
Louis: Calling all musicians! Man, it sure it hard to find a band! Turn the page
Tiana: They can play, no doubt! We'll ask them to join the band for sure.
You get the idea. It feels very much like a children 's-themed ride instead of a ride for everyone. Add that to the overall lack of animatronics throughout the ride and it feels more dull compared to Splash Mountain.

Then George got kneeled on and they decided to essentially do the exact same thing in WDW without actually accounting for the difference in size, thus all the empty space. It was a quick change that wasn't originally planned but they felt "forced" to do it by the California faggots that work in Imagineering.

I blame the parents for not wanting to expose their kids to anything but the same slop over and over. The amount of shit along the lines of, "my little Billy doesn't even know who Tom Sawyer is," when this was announced was ridiculous. Yeah, you dumb broad, he doesn't know who Tom Sawyer is because YOU never gave him a chance to learn. I didn't know anything about Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn when I first went to TSI, but my parents took me anyway, and I got introduced to their stories in a fun and engaging way. It's not the kids' fault their tablet is more of a parental figure than their mothers and fathers.

Blueprints for the Lion King ride are public now. Notable things I can see:
>3x3 seating with dual loading stations
>3 drops (small one, a very small one and the main one)
>main drop about the same height as splash mountain
>seems like it's shorter than every splash mountain but can't especially tell
>1 gift shop, one toilet block, one food kiosk with seating
>theming looks... sparse

Not to restart this argument but there's likely data showing that adults only go to World Showcase to drink and is the second most popular park despite having nearly nothing in it, so they don't want to pull those crowds out of EPCOT if it risks dropping it to the slowest park, even behind Animal Kingdom on days that are 100+ degrees. If they wanted to introduce drinks to MK full force, they'd add more rides to World Showcase.

I unironically didn’t know it was a drop tower until we started going up for the first time and had the moment of realization
i thought the reason we were getting strapped up in the elevator was because japan was soft and we were just going to be taken up slowly
needless to say it was very cool how I had the perfect immersive experience since I had 0 idea what was going to happen

Idea: dark coaster but just the track is lit by LEDS running along it. All the supports and surroundings are in complete darkness (and the light from the track makes it harder for your eyes to adjust and see them) so you're just riding in a void, only able to see the track ahead.
>come up to a dark section where the lights end
>train stops in darkness

Selling alcohol at quick service locations or drink stands at MK isn’t going to pull in even a single adult who went to Epcot for drinking around the world. It doesn’t matter at DHS or DAK either and they already have these. There is no reason not to have them at MK. If MK was still dry it would be different but MK hasn’t been dry for almost 13 years. The decision is probably a park management decision for no other reason than they’re incompetent. Why does MK still have the worst food of all 4 parks and mostly still has many of the same shitty restaurants including trash like the plaza restaurant that shouldn’t even exist in current year? This is the most visited theme or amusement park in the world and their food options are worse than some regional parks

What has nearly nothing in it? Epcot or World Showcase? Epcot’s got plenty to do. Sure it could use more but it will fill most people’s day. Animal Kingdom is the park that doesn’t have much to do and it closes super early. DAK is one of the worst parks in Florida despite all the high praise about it being the pinnacle of theming. There just isn’t much to do and after Dinosaur goes down early next year it’s going to be even worse. Those weirdos who claim it has so much to do it took them two days are fucking liars. Standing around and staring doesn’t count. As brought up in the last thread the authentic recreations of third world ugliness is still ugly and no different from Dinorama’s heavily criticized parking lot. Instead of Americana they should have themed Dinoland to a janky and rusty carnival from Southeast Asia and those same people who praise DAK’s theming would have loved it

At Team Member Preview at HHN rn waiting in Terrifer and will do FNAF next. Current thoughts.
>Grave of Flesh
Opening set is stunning, zombies mixed with strange creatures is cool. Suddenly turned into the Labyrinth from Hellraiser 2 for no reason with you wandering around a surreal maze of marble slabs. A bit jarring but cool zero idea if like its supposed to be the eldritch dimension the creatures came from.
>WWE
Shockingly good for the concept, not familiar with Bray Wyatt and his Fiend but I know the loose concept. Very fun and uses the Firefly family well. Transitions from the WWE Backstage to the cultist compound.
Rip Bray tho, a bit disrespectful but hopefully his estate got a shitload of cash.
>El Artista
Dope as fuck, love wandering through a Gothic mansion with ghouls and a mad artist wandering about. Missed a few of the scare cues but thought the house itself rocked and the aesthetic. Will redo.
>Terrifer
Gory as fuck and over the top. Art is super charming and I thought he was an absolute doll. He came out of the house and acted coy with the guests. Wet path is a nothing burger it just drizzled a bit in a single hallway. Lightly soaked. So far my favorite because it was fun and I kept saying hi Art every time he shows up.

Went all out with a wild west demon brawl. There's skeletal horses. Deadite style townsfolk shambling around. Gunfire whizzes around you with squibs. You see a demon hunter on horseback. Demons crawling out of fireplaces. A screen effect to simulate a train. Fuckinnn
>FNAF
Uses real animatronics or puppets which fucking rocks, based off the movie but you dont need to watch them beyond knowing about Bonnie, Chica, Freddy and Foxy (afton only shows up once). Had a dude behind me who was hyped because he went to Showbiz Pizza as a kid, was funny cuz I grew up with Chuck E Cheese. Definitely a fun house but relies a lot on static characters. Very impressive but not very scary. Worth doing tho.
Also the FNAF restaurant doesnt serve actual pizza which is kinda fucked up.

Okay so rankings? Ill do IP and Originals as separate lists because I feel they have different vibes
For your official 4chan rankings for HHN IP houses
Terrifer >/= Jason Universe (Jason Universe is scarier but Terrifer is more fun) > Five Nights at Freddy's = WWE Bray Wyatt Sicks > (Power Gap) > nothing > (Power Gap) > less than nothing > Fallout
IPs
Dolls Play Dead (sleeper hit) >/= El Artista (weakened without flying gargoyles) = Galkn > Grave of Flesh > Hatchet and Chains
I feel like my feelings on the originals could change and I dont feel any of them are weak or an obvious stinker like Fallout but fuck it was a good night.

I saw other rankings posted on normie social media that vastly differed from yours but everyone seems universally in agreement that Fallout is trash.
Hopefully it's like the Stranger Things and TLOU houses from two years ago and soak up the crowds based on IP recognition despite being dogshit freeing up the better houses.
Fallout being ass is a damn shame because there's so much horror stuff in the games that would have translated super well, but Amazon just wants a walk-through commercial for the show.

Scarezone wise
>Scarezone in between minionsland at the front
Basically a glorified photo op but theres some cool scare actors like a Garygole and some stiltwalkers that were evil birds. Took a picture of all the statues tho lol.
>scarezone in Hollywood
Themed around a twisted masquerade. Didn't actually see it during dark so I'll try a more formative opinion then but the sets, costumes and props were cool. Very much a good "actual" introduction scarezone
>central park Scarezone
Probably one of the highest effort along with New York. Has a neat effect with normal trick or treaters going feral and turning into cats. First sphinx cats before full on furry with a house at the end with a wicked crone who puts on a show. Really good shit lol.
>New York Scarezone
The most impressive, has a lot of set pieces and is very comic booky with a huge thing of barrels filled with toxic rat poison turning everyone into freakish monsters. Set in the 1920s for your obligatory period scarezone. Very very heavy on fog. Loved this one and the cat one.
There's also three "mini scarezones"
>Mel's Die-In
Zombie Carhops on rollerskates. Livens up the area for a good transition between Hollywood and Central Park
>San Fransico
Giant rave with a DJ and women on platforms in animal skull masks who dance.
>Springfield
Roaming chainsaw drill team spot you know the drill
Will watch the shows later. I was more focused on doing all the houses twice. Did em all except for Terrifer (it closed) and Fallout (it sucked)
>>2817413
FNAF had a 90 minute wait time for team member Preview though being fair Terrifier was down. So that seems to be the "major ticket" along with Terrifer. Fallout only had a like 40 to 60 minute wait.

Even with 12 houses it would still be so crammed full of people the express pass would sell. They should be seeing a few years of increased attendance from Epic opening anyways so it makes sense. You can sell more merch.

I've said it before but they should hold a second event at Epic Universe that's more like the Disney offering. Trick or Treat trails, bit more family friendly, more live acts and concerts etc. Will expand the audience, sell more tickets and smooth out the crowds

Epic isn't developed enough yet and doesn't have the facilities. Would fit in more with Islands since it has multiple kid-friendly areas already and already has an event coordination team. Have it just be included with regular admission if you're a park guest but also offer a separate ticket for people that want to show up after 5 that's heavily discounted

Does IOA have places you could put trick or treat stuff or walks? It has a theatre but I seem to remember it being smaller than the Fear Factor one. The general lack of space in walkways will also be an issue.
Epic Universe is getting a theatre built and there are lots of expansion places it could put stuff so in a year could be in a place where it could hold events.

So many. The entirety of Lost Continent is abandoned. There's tons of hideaway areas around the lagoon area. The Toon Lagoon amphitheater is just sitting there empty. Islands hosted HHN like 4 times or so so it has the ability to rapidly convert for haunted houses and shit if needed. It would be way easier to make islands a big trick or treat extravaganza with heavily themed walkthrough attractions. You could also IP brand synergy with Jurassic Park and Potter being right there. A Potter focused Halloween event alone would make it financially worth it.

The food at HHN is all just themed slop and sweet treats. What they need is a bigger variety of quality items.
In my opinion the food at Epic has raised the bar on not just Universal's offerings but the Orlando parks in general. The quality combined with value on most stuff is even better than at Epcot. But USF and IOA need to step it up because the food options at those parks are bad, you could even say abysmal for IOA.

Making shit up to get mad about is a sign of mental illness
I bring gifts of unwanted travel blog posting disguised as ride reviews. Went to South Korea to experience the joys of lesser Florida summer tier weather at Everland and Seoul Land. Everland is an hour city bus ride out of Gangnum where you get to experience the joy of walking up and down a mountain side with no shade in sight for a few hours. Got a ticket online for $27. Whole place was mostly dead the weekday morning I got there until about the afternoon when school let out. Got there an hour after opening and managed to get the two main roller coasters done in the first 30 minutes. Most of that time was spent walking through the empty line and waiting for the train to make its loop. Rolling X Train is an old rickety thing that felt like it needed a re-track 2 decades ago, got slammed about hard in the tight seat. T Express is fucking wild. Not sure what kind of height clearance it has but as everyone says about wooden roller coasters "the supports look like theyre going to hit me". Two zoo tram rides, one takes you to look at herbivores in various enclosures while the carnivore one takes you inside a glass box inside the enclosures. Neat experience with the carnivore one but the animals looked fucking beyond exhausted. There was a few other walking zoo exhibits but they were closed when I got around to doing them at 3pm. Theres a family coaster that had the train on backwards, novelty fun. They turned an interactive dark ride into a projection screen hell where you shoot the baby shark of youtube kids fame. They also had a korean dub version of Europa Park's 2016 Monster Family 4D that I waited way too long for because I think the employees took an hour break. I didn't ride the log flume, river rapids, or any of the flat rides which made up 90% of the attractions. Enjoyed all the theming and had fun, seems like a great place to take your kid. Ill continue this in a part 2.
Part 2. Seoul Land is a 30 minute metro ride out of Sadang on line 4. Its built on mostly flat ground within the seoul grand park complex. Got a ticket online for $14. They have their own mini geodesic sphere but its not used for anything. Place wasn't as dead as Everland on the weekend morning I went but most of the families were in a massive kids play area. Did both of the main roller coasters within 20 minutes. Columbia Double Loop Coaster isn't as rickety as the Rolling X Train but it still slams you around. Black Hole 2000 is a bit smoother than the previous ride but you still get thrashed in the seat. Pretty sure I walked off both rides with pain somewhere. Obviously the seats on all the rides in korea are designed with the smaller asian frame in mind so my fat fucking american male ass just barely passes the fitment which mightve contributed to soreness and increased perceived roughness these rides induced. Never had an issue with restraints not fitting just that the seats themselves are small. On Black Hole 2000 I actually had to change rows because the back seats of the car did not have enough clearance for the length of my thigh. Across from the Double Loop is the Crazy Mouse which wasnt a real wild mouse but was fun. A walkthrough dinosaur thing which was a nice way to get out of the sun. Den of Lost Thieves is an interactive dark where you shoot pirates and it wasnt raped by projection screens unlike the one at Everland. This was the only line I waited in the whole day because a cart of 2 people was sent out every 2-3 minutes. Theres also two different 3d theaters, one has motion seats in a regular theater while the other has swivel stools with 360 wall projection. Both had rotating shows but I only saw one. An Alice in Wonderland fun house walkthrough where you walk down slanted stairs. Other than the Canimal Circus which is something called a Squirrel Barrel I didnt ride any of the flat rides nor the log flume. Enjoyed it all and had fun.

either reason is dumb because if it's the former, you have the brain of a child and if it's the latter then you shouldn't be at theme parks at all because the attractions all have waits the entire year.
so basically you are dumb and gay for stating this opinion (and many more times than once) in a theme park general.

The launches are nearly the same specs-wise. 0-57mph in 2.8 seconds for RnRC and 0-60 in 2.8 seconds for Tron. I was wrong about RnRC being LIM, it actually is LSM but it does use a catch car. I still think RnRC has more of an initial kick but it’s nothing to be intimidated by, they’re not much different. I could also be misremembering, launches are something you get used to quickly and they never hit the same way. Most magnetic launches are pretty similar.

Yeah, haunt lines can be crazy. I work at a large haunt, and we've had people wait three hours, maybe more on our busiest nights. There's not really a good way to reduce those waits either. If you pulse groups, lines swell and folks complain. If you pump people through to reduce the wait, they complain about having too many others in the house with them. If you jack up prices or cap ticket sales, well, they complain about that too. We've gotten more efficient over the years, but there's always some dumb fucks who think they'll get to go through one of the most popular attractions in the state in twenty minutes on a Saturday in October.

I don't understand what that ride's problem is.
It goes down all the time but it's just a basic bitch coaster, the only thing different about it is the cable lift which does seem to be the source of many problems. I know with Intamin they want parks to have an inventory of spare parts whereas other manufacturers will warehouse spares themselves so they can be shipped off immediately. So if you don't have your own Intamin spares you have to scramble to source the part from another park because OEM lead times are long.

well then why the hell don't you increase capacity by adding more attractions? what are you, disney? some of the regional standalone haunts are getting just as expensive as HHN and a lot of them have volunteer scare actors. there's no reason that these places shouldnt be having at least five walkthroughs and a hayride if you are charging upwards of $80 a head for admission and $20 for a burger or $9 for a slice of pizza. I think some of the ones around me are very greedy. Field of Screams and Markoff's Haunted Forest come to mind. Massive crowds/sales and very few attractions.

Yes its good, did it this time and earlier in winter. Sinbad is good. French Revolution is rough but fun. Atlantis has a long 4 hour wait all day that spills out all over magic island. Ride is good but has a very tight 38 inch waist limit for its seat belt so if youre a fat fuck you might want to keep that in mind. It does have a single riders line if you don't want to risk waiting 4 hours to be declined. I wear a 38 inch waist pant and just barely cleared it. Mind you I had 3 layers of jackets unzipped and parted to the side but I dont think taking them off wouldve given me any more space. Comet Express is the best ride in the park, love me some hardcore spinning rides. However it was closed the entire time I was in the country this time because of monsoon season. It never rained so I was a bit peeved about that. Pharaoh's Fury is an indiana jones clone thats alright, the motion simulator aspect could use some major work. The line is always long because of magic express and overall slow loading/dispatching. It doesnt help that midway through the day the ride closes down for 2~ hours and people will sit there queued up waiting for it to open. The balloon ride was closed in winter but open this time but by the time I got around to doing it they closed it well before the park closed. Never rode the monorail. Theres two 4D theaters that look very clearly bought from some production house instead of produced themselves. Fantasy Dream is a trip highly recommend. Theres a projection screen hell similar to the baby shark thing at Everland but with more care put into it. If I forgot anything its because the place is a rats nest. Its the most accessible theme park to tourist because its right on Line 2 but since its right it the city its always busy. Wasn't really busy this last time since it was a school day and atlantis was closed but lines started picking up after school let out. The 2 days in winter I went it was packed on both weekday and weekend.

Do you think money grows on trees? The smaller haunts have operating budgets with razor thin profit margins and whether or not they can exist the following year is up in the air annually
When you add another house, you need space for it, materials, engineers and designer work hours to pay for, electrical, and haunt staff, and the hundreds of other expenses that add up. There's no ctrl-c ctrl-v
A 3 hour line sucks but that's the attendees problem. Show up early.

>Like mind every house has felt like they've undersold their wait time.
Wait times at HHN are extremely unreliable and update slowly. I can't speak to Premium Scream, but my general of thumb is as follows:
>Check times regularly.
>If a time has updated within the last five minutes, it is generally accurate.
>If a time has been posted for 30 minutes without changing, it is likely completely inaccurate.
>If a time has been 45 or less for awhile, assume the wait is longer.
>If a time has been 60 minutes or more for awhile, assume the time is shorter.
>Trust your eyes more than the signs. Does the line look long or short? If you're a first-timer, this may be hard to gauge.
It's not a perfect system, but it's helped me as a non-express buyer stay ahead of crowds. Hell, last year I saw two houses at the back of the park had posted 60 minutes waits when they were actually walk-ons. By the time I finished them, the times were updated, and a massive horde was descending on them as I left.

At HHN people will line up at the gates early or do stay and scream. However, at standalone haunts, this doesn't really happen, at least in my experience. Some people may try to show up early, but we won't even let them in the parking lot until about 30 minutes before opening (maybe a bit earlier on the super busy nights).

It's opening weekend and also a holiday weekend. Assuming that the trend holds however, maybe this is what causes them to expand to 12+ houses. The guest feedback on their disastrous "premium scream" night is all over social media cause it was apparently miserable and not worth the $400 so they will need to do something to win people back. Their influencers that usually suck their dicks are bitching about it cause it was basically just a night with express pass rather than being "premium"

Water rides in general are in decline. Raft rides are getting phased out because insurance companies don't want the liability, all of those 80s/90s shoot-the-chute boat rides are aging out, at least log flumes have simplicity on their side as most repairs are fiberglass work.

Stanley Falls will probably be replaced with another water ride.
I predict a modern renaissance of water rides coming down the (pipeline). Water rides are massively popular with GP and that is the 80% demographic that isnt going to parks basedou've got the Mack rocking boat hitting the scene and making a (splash) and then there's the Lion Kangz ride coming to Paris and a lack of water rides at all the Orlando parks except IOA and SeaWorld (Epic I'm looking at you).
Water rides are massively popular with the GP and that is the 80% demographic that aren't going to the regional parks now and they will need to pull people in/compete with new water rides coming to Florida. I also predict that we will be seeing a regional dark ride resurgence for the same reason. That's why Kings Island is bringing back Phantom Theater and Dollywood is opening a world class dark ride. If the regionals finally started getting in the world class theming game to compete with Universal and Disney the industry in the states could be more like Europe and the bar would be raised and the whole industry could be saved. I mean I'm all for coaster war shit but I feel like now that everything is consolidated with all the major regional parks, it's time for the industry in the US to take a decade or two to evolve into meeting a higher standard for everything other than coasters. Investments should be made to theme the hell out of everything and give people the Orlando experience near them.
Themed lands, big water rides and modern dark rides could help to achieve this.

the merger stuff has already killed the coaster wars. at this point its basically only six flags/cedar fair vs. herschend and six flags already threw in the towel when they sacrificed the tallest coaster in north america. herschend has no inventive to compete because their focus is on the family market. they seem to care more about keeping their regions locked and being a good alternative for families other than florida.
so yeah, it does make perfect sense for both companies to compete with orlando instead of each other, especially considering the fact that regional attendance is nosediving.

I think it's the sheer size that hurts them, hard to make a compact logflume without them looking like a funfair one. They're comfy as fuck and the whole family can enjoy them. Love the ones that'd just go through random forests at the back of parks.

It's got its own transformer/redistribution station plus a small powerplant but it gets most of its power from the general Florida supply. I'd guess their own plant is there to keep the lights, AC and data centre stuff supplied.
On an unrelated note, Disney were teasing park stuff for D23 today and tomorrow so could see a few bits and pieces, especially for villains land.
The real question is how did BGT become a ghetto budget park when Tampa's population has exploded in the last 10 years?
Howl-O-Scream now does only 1 new house a year and features 5 houses total. In 2010 they offered 9 houses with 5 of them being brand new.
What happened there? Entertainment industry is recession proof so it cant be the economy.

It looks like a gas turbine plant, and those are used as peakers by big utilities when demand gets high and they shut them back down when demand drops because they're expensive to run per MW/hr. No idea about the economics of Disney running them, if they're in continuous service perhaps they can get the price per MW/hr down to a level that's competitive with the power company. Might just be a load shedding operation where it's only turned on when the power company is near their max capacity and starts telling big customers to cut back.

BGT was comfy as shit in the 90s through the 2010s. They used to try to compete with Dis and Uni and occasionally produced kino like the original version of Rhino Rally and Akbar's Adventure tours. They shifted the focus on improving Howl-O-Scream Orlando at SeaWorld, which is looking like it could actually be pretty solid this year since last year's was a leap from the year before and this year looks like even more of an improvement. It would appear that they are finally starting to get some crossover guests from HHN which is obviously why they started the Orlando event in the first place, a few years ago which got off to a rocky start because the first two years were affected by the pandemic. Also HHN tourists and Orlando tourists in general aren't making the trek to Tampa for BGT anymore because Orlando now has enough thrill coasters to satisfy the GP and the thoosies.
>industry is recession proof
Tourism always takes the biggest hit during a recession (picrel) out of any industry because the money spent on vacations is whatever is leftover after living costs and taxes. Most people don't even have money in the bank. All their money earned is spent on bills and paying off debt etc. With the cost of Orlando increasing, less people are traveling to Florida and even less people have the time or extra money on top of that to add BGT to their itinerary.

I hadn’t even read the rest of your post when I replied. I have been trying to think of what ride this was for a while too, searching Universal and Disney history. It must have been 2001 when I last rode it. Damn anon, solving two mysteries for me in one post without even being promoted.
Busch Gardens used to be Disney/Universal tier then? I mean Rhino Rally was up there with any ride from those two. Wonder what happened. During my last visit it seemed to be only tangentially related to Africa, and the African theming was mostly just animals.

It was never Disney tier but it did seem to just be a better experience. They've got some great coasters but it's come at the expense of everything else. You had great shows, frequent wandering live music, the beer tent.
The akbar tour was also the second version of the simulator ride, previously it was some other thing about a scientist looking for some crystal (I rode both versions)
Is my fat ass gonna fit in the Tron ride bros?

I have the about the same beer belly as you and the bikes are incredibly uncomfortable. I recommend riding in the back row on the sit down seats. I did that on my second ride and it was more comfortable and felt more like a standard coaster, which I preferred.

The real trick to being comfortable is how you sit in the seat. I usually sit in a way where I can still cross my arms and rest them on the top of the hump at the end of the ride. Dont have to tilt my head up that far while riding. If youre leaned all the way forward youre doing it wrong. I think most people flub up how to fit their feet and legs in which makes the sitting more awkward than it should.

Here it is more the original is and always will be the true version, others might be done for temporary celebrations (the latest one can be attributed to the 50th) so people are going to rail on anything that stays too long because nostalgia always will take them to the original

My understanding is that looking in isolation the job's been comparatively poor pay, poor security, hard work and very strict conditions since the Eisner era. However can't ignore that you're working at Disney, if you like customer service it's probably the best around for that (yeah you get shitty highly strung, angry people but you get that everywhere) and the character actors get paid to larp and build up acting experience.
Basically it's like every "desirable" job, the pay and conditions are shit because there are 100 people waiting if you quit.

It’s not even a desirable job. And people aren’t queued up waiting to work there for the common positions, they solicit college and international students from all over to come live there and take a big chunk of their pay to house them. The characters are entertainment and most people in entertainment are elitest snobs who pretend you don’t exist. You have to audition to play face characters and some of the people in the shows go on to broadway (same with entertainment actors and other parks though.. even regional parks). Entertainment gets paid way more than the ride operators and food service and custodians, they’re not even the same league. I worked there on the college program. It was…. A job. But when I worked there we could go into the parks freely whenever we wanted (I don’t think they can do that now unless it’s changed back)

I noticed at Disney Spring the drink stands no longer give you a receipt with a spot for tips when you pay with a card. It’s probably included there for sure. Over the years I’ve noticed a lot of people write $0 or not tip which is understandable when you’re paying that much for a drink. All the Disney travel “expert” advice saying what you should tip is just bullshit. A lot of people have made a living being Disney travel agents and experts over the years and thankfully the will soon be replaced with AI

weekdays in september are the least crowded days all year. you just have to plan your days according to the after hours events, and you will most definitely get low crowds/waits for everything. for MK make sure it's not on a day with not-so-scary because the park closes early and there will be a lot of people attending the event with day tickets also. same applies to universal. try going to the studios and IOA on a mon-wed when HHN isnt happening and I predict that Epic will be less crowded on HHN days because people will be over at the other parks on those days.

I think that was because of all the vacation packages people were getting over the summer. They started on friday or saturday so people staying at a universal resort didnt start the parks until monday and finished on wednesday or thursday with those being the park days. It will probably flip this month because vacation packages are mostly done for the season with families and kids back in school and work. There will be more locals and florida residents going to Universal on the weekends for HHN and because thats when they have off of school/work so all the parks will likely be more crowded on the weekends.

Unironically as someone who works at a paint manufacturing company here in Florida I get jealous that we don't supply Disney. It does not affect my job at all if we do or not, it would just be neat to be able to say I "supply Disney World with paint". I guess they just have a pretty good deal with PPG and I doubt we could compete in 1000 years.
Also does anyone remember those paint chips you could grab at like Home depot and they were in the shape of mickey? Dad would always let me take one home even though there was zero intention of painting anything.

I’m often a single rider on coasters and thrill rides because my kids aren’t ready for them. It never really bothered me but in recent years zoomers don’t want to sit next to strangers despite the coasters that have assigned seating. It’s got to
the point where I have to tell them “hey they assigned me next to you” which you never had to do before. I sat next to this total sperg on Steel Vengeance who insisted that he ride alone and I told him that seats are assigned and I’m sitting next to you, you don’t get to choose to sit by yourself. And he kept saying some weird autistic drivel clearly out of his comfort zone. When seats are assigned I’ll pick a row to be by myself and if somebody wants to sit next to me IDGAF. Most legacy Six Flags parks don’t assign seats but the popular legacy Cedar Fair parks do on many of their coasters. I noticed Kings Island wasn’t assigning people next to single riders which reinforces my zoomer autistic comfort zone theory.
As for solo travel, I don’t do that. I’ve stopped at parks by myself on the way to visit friends or on work trips but it’s not something I would ever want to do. Like the Disney Adults who go on solo Disney trips is weird and also sad (as in I feel sad for them).

Lol. I wouldn't even do that I'm just following them out as as soon as the air gates open and sitting down.
If they sit in the first seat to block me I'll just wait for the wagie to see what's going on and make them move. I also dgaf if someone rides next to me, it's not a big deal and would be funny to me if some sperg was being a bitch about it.

>If they sit in the first seat to block me I'll just wait for the wagie to see what's going on and make them move.
That’s why I started saying “I’m sitting next to you”. I was in a party of 3 on a 2 across seating coaster next to the odd man out for another party of 3 and they purposely blocked me and put their restraint down. Ride operator reopened the gates (which on some coasters isn’t something they can do but this was some shitty coaster) and I had to wait… and then my party had to wait a cycle for me to ride. Another park or another coaster would have handled it differently though.
The Steel Vengeance sperg didn’t try to block me and him getting all uncomfortable and saying a bunch of autism babble was definitely quite funny and made me want to ride next to him even more. He had a fast lane plus arm band and immediately got back on (solo) which makes me wonder how many other people had to deal with it or why a single rider thinks they’re entitled to being alone when all seats are supposed to be filled.

I wish there were more single rider lines like there used to be. A lot of them have been converted into fast/flash/express pass/lane lines. This would help reinforce to zoomers that they won’t be sitting alone. I’ve been blocked 4 times as a single rider or odd man out. Once was a mistake from an adult in a 4 across H&M and they moved down right away. The other three were zoomers and two of them were showing clear signs of autism sensory personal space bullshit. The one I didn’t mention was on gatekeeper but there is enough room to walk to the next seat and I could tell the guy was uncomfortable (in an autistic way like the previously mentioned sperg on Steel Vengeance) that somebody was next to him. These are the types of people who do non-contact delivery and hyperventilate if they have to interact with a cashier because the self check out acts up. I’m not sure why they’re going to theme parks full of thousands of people. It was probably hard enough for them to tell the ride operator how many was in their party (for the ones who were solo)

Just be handsome. I look and dress like a chad (even though I’m as autistic as everyone else here) so they assume I am one. Typical thoosies (it’s funny how obvious they make themselves) are hilariously easy to pick out. Bad clothes, bad hair, glasses, skinny fat or just skinny. Just asking for zoomers to make fun of them.

Well, again the official Marathon route is pretty tight. You might be able cut off 4 miles or so, but you're still looking at at least 20 miles for a full minimalist loop, 15 miles for being content to stop and start at different parks.

Work in progress Psychotic WDW Walk plan with minimal vehicles and backtracking. As far as I'm aware this covers every non-DVC, Disney-owned resort (except one, Coronado Springs is annoying to reach) and park + shop district . Every paragraph break is a vehicle transition. I'm interested in any ideas to optimize this route better:
Monorail to Contemporary as soon as possible in the morning, start your timer and step counter.
Walk to MK, do a full loop. Walk past Grand Floridian, Poly, through to Ticket center bus depot to bus to Wilderness lodge.
Walk from the Lodge to Fort Wilderness, walk all the way south to the campsites, bus to Epcot.
Walk south around The Land, exit via International gateway (We are not done with Epcot) into Yacht + Beach, loop around Swan and Dolphin to Atlantic Dance Hall, walk down Hollywood Studios connector path. Do full loop of Hollywood Studios then proceed to gondolas for Caribbean Beach.
Circle the lake passing by Riviera resort then way down to trinidad section, back to gondolas towards Pop Century.
Loop hourglass lake then bus to Blizzard Beach.
Loop Blizzard beach then walk all the way down to All star movies, bus to Animal kingdom.
Loop Animal kingdom then bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge
Wander AKL then bus to Typhoon Lagoon
Loop Typhoon Lagoon then bus to Old Key West
Walk through the golf course paths up past Saratoga Springs to Disney Springs, wrap down to Cirque building then back to the Water taxi towards Port Orleans FQ
Walk up through FQ to Riverside then loop Old man Island, bus back to Epcot for the finale
Take the path past test track and finish the rest of the World Showcase loop then finish line is past Boardwalk at Atlantic Dance Hall.
If anyone knows of a good way to map this out on one single image I would like to know, I crashed my browsers multiple times trying to map it out on Google maps even in chunks.
Lastly, the water parks are gonna be down to just one this week. So there goes my attempt at this
Going to Epic pretty soon and trying to watch all of the classic Universal Monster Movies before I go to Darkmoor for maximum immersion.
So far I have seen: The Wolf Man, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Phantom of the Opera, The Mummy, and Creature from the Black Lagoon.
All I have left are Dracula, Frank, Bride. Am I missing anyone? Is COTWW based on the movie of the same title?

God damn, HHN was slammed tonight. Busier than I've ever seen in early September. Thought I would finally fail to do everything without Express, but I managed to pull it off. My strategy was as follows:
>Stay and Scream WWE
>Hatchet and Chains
>Fallout
>Galkin
>Dolls
>Both shows
>Food
After that, it was a game of monitoring wait times and trying to figure out when they were bullshit to great success. Longest wait was one hour for Terrifier (which was posted at 2 hours). Jason was 140 minutes posted when I went in, but it was actually 20 minutes. I also saw our resident youtuber but at too inopportune a time to say hello.
I will say that while this opening strategy worked, it may not be the most efficient, especially if you aren't used to gaming the wait times. I'm going to try a strategy I think is better tomorrow.

Not him but I did it a couple of years ago. Do the early stay thing, prioritise the IP with the biggest queue to hit first, do a bunch of the non-IP mazes in the vicinity after (which should still have low queues) then balancing IP and non-IP ones when the queues look fine.
It's worth noting that in the last 90s minutes or so of the night, the queue times plummet as everyone starts getting tired and leaving and you can get a lot done pretty fast, especially for when the next day isn't a weekend.

Wait times are still calculated by handing a guest a card and finding out how long it took to get on.
By the time that guest gets on the ride, the line is completely different, so posted wait times are lagging indicator.

Generally, if a wait time has remained the same for a half hour or more, it's wrong. Low posted waits will draw crowds, so if you get in a 30 minute wait well after everyone else has had a chance to see that wait time, you're probably going to be stuck behind a large group who has the same idea as you. The opposite is true for high wait times. I saw Jason had a 140 minute wait time posted for an entire hour and rightfully assumed that even the most braindead of parkgoers would balk at that.
It is also important to trust your eyes. This isn't as easy for new visitors, but you can get a more accurate guess on wait times by just looking at how long the line is.

Disney is the premier theme park company in the world, even if they have Universal nipping at their heels as far as quality goes, if they haven't been surpassed. Disney is what people think of when they think of theme parks, and the Florida parks are the major theme park "destination" in America, whereas most other parks are pretty regional. So there's naturally going to be more discussion of these parks because more people go to them.

I’ve seen a few Disney Adults make videos and write articles about Dollywood. I don’t think it’s a negligible amount of overlap, I think the smokies is a serious vacation contender that’s drawing away some Orlando vacation regulars. Vacationing there is not as expensive as a Disney vacation. Not yet anyways. Unless you’re staying at one of Dolly’s hotels or one of those fancy cabins (without other families to split the bill). I can see annual vacationers going every other year and replacing the off years with the smokies, for example.

Maybe, but I think Gatlinburg is more of a 'long weekend' type of vacation than a full replacement for Disney in most situations. I'm a Nashville fag so maybe my thinking is getting a little distorted because that's how I've always viewed it. It's a fun place and even though it's a little kitsch I've always had a great time there and the national park is legit A+ tier. I've been to like 30 national parks and the Smoky's are in the top 5 for me.
Point of my essay is people fly from all over America/the world to go to Disney while I don't think most people do that for Dollywood and it's just a large and absolutely excellent regional park.

There are always those people who spend a week in Gatlinburg as well as people who think they’re nuts for vacationing there. But I don’t think people are flying from all over the country to go there, it’s not an easy or cheap place to fly to. It’s probably cheaper to fly to Nashville and drive the 200 miles than to fly into Knoxville. People in the region yes and also some people within a 500 mile drive. They hear about Dollywood or see a Disney YouTuber make a video and there and it might scratch that theme park itch while Disney continues to price them out.
