how has traveling changed in the past 5 years? After Covid I thought I would start myself for traveling around the world but its seems every single human had the same idea and now everything is overcrowded with Chinks and Jeets

dont feel obligated to see the most famous thing in every famous tourist place
even within major tourist destinations there are secondary choices that might have more manageable crowd

ok sure but you talk loudly and you spend a really long time taking cutesy selfies blocking the views and you tend to stand in one place for a long time without being mindful of those around you
jeets are a nightmare to be around irl

That’s just from us growing up around 1.6 billion people in a small space. You should simply either ignore it or let it go. That behaviour bothering you is a you problem.

What makes it undesirable? Because you say so? Well billions of people say it is not. Why do you think you can determine how I should act? Your colonial time has ended. You don’t get to say how the world works.
Back on topic. Indians travel and that’s a good thing to the places they go. They are a huge benefit to the local economy.

American here. Well, we did say how things should work in the world, and things were fine for awhile. Best they had ever been in the history of the planet. You should check your ego, and recognize that your way leads to doom. You can do this. We checked our ego and let off of our foot. Now it's time for 3 billion people that won't won't stop fucking to do the same, and let us lead this planet.

America had no empire. But America listened to people's pleas, and stopped helping outwardly, and started allowing people not from it's borders dictate how it governs it's land. Yes, their way is shit. You have more than enough evidence of it. How it can turn the greatest civilization to ever exist into mediocrity.

Things I've noticed different from precovid
>many places use shitty app ordering or epay and straight up don't take cash meaning some places in asia can be hellish
>more tourists in general everywhere
>hostel prices are fucked beyond repair, I often use private rooms before and now they are dogshit
>Apartment+hotel shits make me wanna kms I don't know how they took over so fast
>places 'off the beaten path' are far more agro to tourists now
>the amount of closed places still on google maps as open went from 1:100 to 1:10 with some places
>24hr places are stopping all over the world
>traveling for long periods of time = you must be a digital nomad right?

The worst part is somehow the Chinese tourist got worse, I don't know HOW.

Oh also Las Vegas is a wasteland, it is so fucking bad to go to now. Literally families of pajeets running around, bumping into Jamals and Pedro families. All the while REEKING of weed on the strip.

In terms of raw land area the portion of the world that is genuinely over touristed or amalgamated into the new Greater India milieu is seriously like .01%. It’s just that .01% is the highest profile dirt on the whole rock, so what happens there gets broadcast like its 99%.

What has changed is that you can no longer rely on the internet really at all. You have to read books and really learn about a place. you have to be able to contextualize and synthesize information better than an algorithm and/or AI model. That’s not particularly hard to do if you have a decent IQ, but it is a lot of work.

The reward for doing it is self explanatory.

America is more of an imperial power now than ever before. We can't have high-speed rail or interstates with 120 mph express lanes, but we can afford to operate military bases in 100 different foreign countries.

Indifference toward visitors has become a LOT more common. Thirdies in particular are perpetually distracted by their phones. They're not bored and eager for any diversion like they used to be. Traveling China in the 1990s, the entire village would gather around to gawk at a foreigner eating lunch or whatever. Now, they'll barely spare you a glance.

In all my travels I never really experienced outright hostility from randoms.

$30 for a hostel bunk in a European old town, yeah it's laughable. The days of being able to go anywhere in the world and stay in hostels for $10 per night are long gone. As hostels have gotten pricier, their clientele has gotten older (and a lot less fun). You hardly even see 18-21 year old backpackers anymore. They can't afford to travel until they get older. Gen X parents have gotten more stingy as well, they're not gonna hand their kids a few thousand dollars and say "go out see the world and have fun" like the older generations did.

With unlimited time? Sure. I don’t really have that.

>>2816107
I noticed this over ten years ago. When I was in my twenties at hostels there was a surprising amount of backpackers in their thirties. I was a based knower & user of 4chan so I was way ahead of the curve recognizing that a paradigm shift was occurring where millennials were not growing up. These were the cutting edge ones, like b.1980 or not long after and in this state of endless childhood/arrested development.

Now I’m in my thirties and I’m staying at hostels still. EXCEPT I’m…median age maybe? Because those thirtysomethings from 2012-ish? Well it’s not like they’re ever growing up either, so now there are legit forty-something’s living out a broken fantasy of endless youth. And the way they talk? You’d think they were in college.

When they find out I’m a pilot about half the time they say “oh I’d love to do that job some day”…and I’m just bewildered. You are 45 and mandatory retirement for pilots is 65. You are OLD.

But anyways, yeah hostels can charge these people more because they have more money. Drives out the younger ones, which is increasingly fine by me since zoomers are profoundly unfun people. Though that brings up a chicken/egg argument, was in the terminally infantilized millennials who refused to relinquish our hold on youth budget options that made the zoomers what they are???

No? Absolutely not.
You failed to use condoms and to control your population. There's at least 5x more pajeets (& chinks) than there should be.
So you only have a fifth of an human's rights per capita, right now. At best.

Like the CIA constantly fucking people's shit up unless they do what America wants them to do or else? Various sanctions just to fuck shit up if they don't do what America wants or else?
>greatest civilization to ever exist
America was known for degenerative and authoritarian social policies for about 200 years at this point.

There definitely was a quantum shift with COVID in regards to the western sphere of influence. Culture is created almost exclusively online engaged with online and shared online. It really was the final nail in the coffin for the transition into true globalization. A kid in Bosnia is consuming the same instagram algorithms as American kids just in a different language maybe. Culture is not dead but it becomes more irrelevant with each passing year. The problem as it pertains to traveling is you just end up consuming a more homogeneous "cultural experience" in Europe or you go to more extreme destination like Asia or Africa.

Realistically you just have to go to more obscure locations in your chosen country and not try so hard. Stay in a village and become a regular at the local pub for 2 weeks. Whatever you're looking for it's not hiding in a party hostel full of depressed chronically online 26-40 year olds trying to feel something for their 2 weeks of vacation.

I don’t know what’s going on elsewhere, but I know in theUSA there is a very quickly growing anti-online sentiment from young people who have grown up entirely with devices and the unrelenting crush of social media. In that way it’s actually leading to a very nascent resurgence of culture here in the little college town I live in.

Lots of live music, lots of people in parks without phones…you know I’m 36 and I’m probably more “terminally online” than these college kids.

How long this will take to filter out into broader USA, or the broader Anglo world, or the broader white/western world, or the broader world in general…I don’t know. I don’t see thirdies as being up the cognitive task, and my overwhelmingly white sample size of undergrads probably don’t even represent their own age demographic here in the USA

Since you want to use slurs, I'm going to take a wild guess that you are a racist. Yeah, racists generally are joyless, miserable people who blame people with different skin colors for their own shortcomings. I can imagine being a racist loser will make traveling depressing and lame because it's such a narrow mindset. Like imagine having your trip ruined because people with a different skin color exist. What a pathetic existence. Not much you can do about it until you start fixing your own shitty life so you stop blaming everyone else for your own failure. Traveling is still wonderful. Sorry you're such a loser who loses. Perhaps be a winner who wins in life. That's my answer.

The world is gigantic. There are a lot of places with few to no tourists. Stop going to Paris, Tokyo, London, New York. Stop going to Cancun, Phuket, Bali, Majorca. Stop going to Kyoto, Venice, Barcelona, Rio.
Why are you travelling to these places if you hate tourist crowds? Go hiking in the mountains, go to small villages in poor countries, go second tier cities that you know nothing about.
Either that or shuffle through the same over visited tourist traps with everyone else and stop complaining.

I went to Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany. The train from Munich, which was three regio’s long was entirely filled with indians some German holiday weekend. I and my friends were the only non-indians on the train besides the workers and I overheard several jeets trying to scam the ticket system claiming they didn’t understand a group ticket for 1 person was only for 1 person and not the 20 in their group. There is no where these vermin arent

>there is a quickly growing anti-online sentiment
Don't be mistaken this is a good thing but it's only a half measure. The difference between what you might be seeing now and how it was 20 years ago is that it's not the primary form of culture of even socialization. It's distant second from the online world and an almost performative activity.

The difference being that the first option to consume culture will always be online. We are fried as a species if people have to make a conscious effort to meet in person

America is like that. There are "privilege bubbles" scattered all over the map. As a traveler you drop by and go "whoa, I had no idea this side of America still existed!" Everyone is fit, happy, prosperous, well-socialized, and even eugenic. Rich White families with beautiful blonde-haired children running around and boldly saying "hi" to strangers as mom smiles complacently. Healthy restaurants with outdoor seating. Lots of people walking and bicycling on the town trails.

You don't see any Gucci or bling, but it's clear that everyone you see is fucking LOADED with spending money. America's rich are richer than ever before, and they sure know how to live the good life. It only sucks when you realize that their wealth is extracted from the dystopian wageslave parts of America, and that behind the gentle and cultured facade, they are ruthlessly exploitative of the working classes.
