Emigrating out of the west for a better life.
It feels like these days the only way to have a good life is to emigrate to a second world country, and take advantage of the currency valuations to buy a home. Many of these "developing countries" (China, Malaysia, Thailand) have already overtaken Europe and the USA in terms of quality of life. Over time these differences are only going to get larger with the west on the way down. On top of that, the idea of paying 2 million dollars to live in a plywood shack in a neighbourhood that is 99% fent junkies and jeets doesn't feel appealing.

Or you could pay $150,000 for a sturdy wooden house in a neighborhood that does not include neighbors. My 27 year old brother just did.

And no, Southeast Asia and China does not come anywhere close to the quality of life in America or Europe.

Go and live there for 90 days. You go with a higher QOL expectation, you're gonna be one of those bitter, jaded expats. You go with developing-country expectations, and you'll be blown away by how nice some things are - while tolerating the faults as part of life in Asia.

This is one of the most modern exurbs of Kuala Lumpur, ten minutes and $1 from the airport along the KLIA Transit.

I'm in Canada and a house even in the middle of nowhere here costs >500k and there's no jobs. Dual citizenship with the UK and it's the same. Another decaying overpriced dump.

You're either a retarded zoomer that has never traveled or this is a turdie bot post

Went to Thailand before covid. Stayed in a nice area for 15 a night, full flat. It's "third world" because a nice flat costs 15 dollars and not 180 dollars like it would in a shithole like Denmark.

I literally live in Thailand. It would suck to be born Thai. They are dirt poor (just like most chinks and malays). I like it because I make my money elsewhere, and I can save more (and retire earlier) living here. You could argue that it's a 'better deal' for foreigners, but a higher quality of life for the local citizen? Lol, get real. You've got turdie brain, and I'm afraid it might be terminal.

Thai people are friendly, the weather is nice, they are more human than the cold robots that inhabit the UK or Canada. That's all I care about. Their country is quite modern, nowhere in Thailand felt third world to me outside of the trains maybe but they got updated to new stock since I last visited. Bangkok's skytrain is clean, modern and advanced.

There is nowhere like home though. In another country you will always be an outsider.

So it's the same for many being forced to be outsiders in their own country then. Replacing locals with new "locals" isn't a community you'll miss being a part of.

I have never felt any attachment to Canada or the UK, culturally or to the people. I've felt the most comfortable in east asia, people are nicer. I don't give a shit about skin color anyway, being white I'm used to being the minority. Most of the whites in Canada are extremely rude and passive aggressive. They think they can yell at you while you mind your own business, scream at you in your house, generally selfish and disrespectful. The immigrants are usually nicer than the actual canadians here contrary to what 4chan wants to believe.

>just be a hermit bro
>you don't need human interaction
>America is great you just need to isolate yourself from Americans
Or you can just go somewhere where people aren't insane, miserable, and hate each other. Or they are but they treat you differently and better than each other.
>go where you're treated best

Medellín also has a clean, modern metro. It's still a turdie shithole.
It's hot and humid as fuck in Bangkok and the air is toxic compared to Canada

Yes, but you will know that you belong there. In another country, you can feel that you are an intruder, an interloper. And you know they think about you probably the same way you think about immigrants in your own country that are replacing you.

i'm from the uk, i live mostly in malaysia
whether you have a better quality of life here as a long term expat or immigrant will very much depend on your personal circumstances
if you are reasonably young, well off, healthy, have no emotional/psychological baggage then yeah go for it, it could be the adventure of your lifetime
but it is inevitable that a few times in your life something shitty will happen. health scare, accident, pipeline explosion destroys your house (see pic related), lose your job or other source of income, etc etc. if this happens to you when you are in a country that is not your own you will soon realise that just having spicy food doesn't mean a country is better
also bear in mind that once the novelty wears off you will eventually just have to get into a groove and live a normal life like everyone else and you need to be prepared for that comedown especially when you have to deal with shitty infrastructure, corruption, bureaucracy etc on a massive scale
recs if really you want to try it:
always have an exit strategy
always have local contacts who can help you with everyday shit. friends family business colleagues etc
always have a stable emergency fund. by which i mean something like a handful of gold sovereigns that you can carry with you if you need to leave everything behind
never completely cut your ties to your home country
