i'm from the uk, i live mostly in malaysia
whether you have a better quality of life here as a long term expat or immigrant will very much depend on your personal circumstances
if you are reasonably young, well off, healthy, have no emotional/psychological baggage then yeah go for it, it could be the adventure of your lifetime
but it is inevitable that a few times in your life something shitty will happen. health scare, accident, pipeline explosion destroys your house (see pic related), lose your job or other source of income, etc etc. if this happens to you when you are in a country that is not your own you will soon realise that just having spicy food doesn't mean a country is better
also bear in mind that once the novelty wears off you will eventually just have to get into a groove and live a normal life like everyone else and you need to be prepared for that comedown especially when you have to deal with shitty infrastructure, corruption, bureaucracy etc on a massive scale
recs if really you want to try it:
always have an exit strategy
always have local contacts who can help you with everyday shit. friends family business colleagues etc
always have a stable emergency fund. by which i mean something like a handful of gold sovereigns that you can carry with you if you need to leave everything behind
never completely cut your ties to your home country
