Do people travel somewhere sunny for a while alone, to get away, or am I a weirdo for craving this right now? If it's common, to what kinds of hotels do people travel?

I'm looking at 5 star hotels and such but it seems so weird. It'll probably be a bunch of families, as I'm roaming the hotel alone. Is this common? Do I have to get married?

This is why I do the extra work to make sure wherever I go, it’s a place where I can be a loser in peace. That means entries and exits are private without a front desk person to see me constantly going out and coming back alone, especially when it would be something like me coming back home for the night at 9pm on Friday.

Furthermore, since I don’t really drive, I make sure that the places I will frequent have travel paths that allow me the least amount of eyeballs to see me going back and forth constantly alone.

The one thing when traveling that feels like death by a thousand paper cuts is when the same peanut gallery starts to continuously see you perpetually alone, especially during times where you’re simply supposed to be out and about with people 8pm-4am Friday/Saturday etc

For me, when I travel, I go to sunny places where I can just lay in the sun and then I goon in the room balcony for the rest of the day, doing what I do at home anyway, sit by the computer

What I have no desire to do is to leave the hotel to "go out", what would you even do? I think that's what makes you feel like a loser. You go out to drink? Simulate companionship with people? Are you looking for friends?

There's a difference between traveling for leisure and traveling for meaning. You won't find meaning abroad.

I think there are definitely locales that are more non-family friendly. Namely, nightlife kind of cities, or places that are pretty pricey foods or require gear/excusions of price. I think yacht and sailing peoples may be also be alone. Personally, even couples can be interesting dinner companions, but you can also book yourself on excursions alone and talk to strangers. Do you like sunny locale activities? A diving trip gets you an instant buddy/instructor. A fishing charter gets you a first mate to bait your hook and guide behind the wheel. Key West will get you some live music and someone to talk to you right next to you at the bar. No one gives a shit if you avoid people and stay on the beach all day or next to a pool with your towel and suntan oil. Order from the bar or just stay in the shade chair. There are plenty of museums in Miami, and nightlife. Put on headphones or talk to strangers as you try all the food.

Going to a city for a particular festival or a concert that you have an interest in, gives an excuse to be there and not feel like a loser.

Going to a spa destination is easy alone, most people are doing it for health reasons.

If I said

they'd think I was the biggest retard in the world for spending money on a flight+hotel just to do that.
It does sound comfy, but I'd feel compelled to see some sights I didn't care about just so I could say I did something.

I kinda hate how I feel this pressure to do "something" when I travel, but I think it's ultimately a good thing in that it pushes me outside my comfort zone and see new things, without it I would simply sit in the hotel room on my computer the entire time as well. Which is fun and comfy, just not very fulfilling if that's all I do.
