There are secret parts of Asia I go to
No tourists there/here. I'm so glad they still exist. Like huge regions. Not telling.
Anyone else gatekeeping some great spots?

I have a place I do that with too. Maybe it's the same place/s. I say it's dangerous and boring.
But I also have a big region nobody ever talks about (that I'm in rn). A youtuber came here recently but no others I've seen yet. Kind of bizarre

There are beautiful places in Asia where locals shake my hand when I tell them I'm from the UK, they thank me for visiting.
Places where I absolutely dominate on tinder.
Places where multiple people ask for selfies everyday
I and others gatekeep these places because we earned them after years of travelling. Because we were bold and decided to take risks and try new places that had scant or no information online. We actually made calculated decisions based on years of experience
>Wait. This place has to be good. It has everything I want
or
>Wow. I bet nobody goes there!
But instead of getting nervous because we can't confirm our suspicions online, instead of booking flights back to Thailand again, we have the confidence and enjoy the resourcefulness of making an adventure out if our free time
We gatekeep them because we graduated into them. They are our reward for our trepidation and experience.

Most "secret" or "hidden places" in asia or the world for that matter are piss easy to find assuming you're not some retard without a drivers license. "meh tier" places to visit like Korea can become GOAT if you can rent a car, go see some of the places trains/buses don't stop at, and biking is out of the question.

(((''indians''))) have been running ads about Latvia that there are 10 women to 1 man, perfect place to find your yt girlfriend.. and latvian university system allows importing indians en mass for ''affordable high quality education'' which i see as jews best way of importing browns into latvia right now, stage 2 will be accepting assylum seekers and then latvia will be fully destoyed.

thats why there isnt much multiculturalism pushed there yet (YET) because to replace <2 million population will take 10x less time and effort than it took for UK, France etc.

I've been to every country in Asia except Burma, Best Korea and Mongolia. Maybe Vladivostok also if you count that.
Your secret gems don't impress me fren. It's not hard to find good places that normies don't want to go and pretending you are gatekeeping anything is frankly gay and lame.
Normies don't go to them for fair reasons, tourists aren't catered to, there's a dozen awesome Chinese cities that no one has ever heard of and you will be often hard pressed to find other white people.
For me underrated cities in Asia:
> Guilin, CH
> Hualien, TW
> Izu, JP
> Songkhla/Hat Yai, TH
> Fenghuang, CH

Hat Yai's city center is a Chinatown, dumbfuck
Personally I didn't like it as it felt too much like a real city with the tallish buildings lining grid streets. Prices were high (by Thailand standards) and people weren't friendly. Surat Thani is dumpier but much more friendly. Phattalung was my favorite provincial city in southern Thailand. Can't speak for Songkhla, but I heard it's great.
>>2832499
Myanmar's country code is MM.
Malaysia has a large number of pleasant places with few foreign tourists. Muar was one of my favorite cities in the country.
>>2832495
I agree. Asia is the world's largest and most populated continent. Even the most heavily visited countries like Thailand are full of places that the normie herds pass over. There's nothing secret about them. The simple truth is, normie tourists like to be around other normie tourists, which dissuades them from going off the beaten path.

Have you actually been there? Every single thing there is catered towards tourists. You will only find a few western tourists, but it is crawling with Chinese tourists from other parts of the country. Outside the 'ancient' part, you won't find any western tourists, but this is just a regular small Chinese city, with nothing special to see. You have seen the entire ancient town in a day.

>> Guilin, CH
Also full of (Chinese) tourists and also well known, but you can avoid crowds by exploring on a rented scooter/bike. Guilin is way more worth going to than Fenghuang is

I enjoyed my time in hat yai, which mostly consisted of walking from the hotel to the weed shop speakeasy lounge which was huge and comfy.

I'd rip a bong there while reading /biz/ /pol/, watching youtube, reading ttrpg material, or applying to tech jobs.

I almost lost my wallet. a woman had offered to give me a ride in the pouring rain from this weird road I had ended up on before the storm. I left my wallet in her car when she dropped me off at prince of Songkhla university. I was preparing my self to walk in the downpour back to her home, but she managed to find me in the crowd and return it right there.

Songkhla down to penang and maybe even KL seem like quaint, peaceful asia life that few westerners are tracking/observing/visiting

I grew up in Scotland and I am amazed and relieved that some of the local spots haven't been discovered by tourism yet
I think it is because there are no bus tours there, so you have to drive, and there is a short hike (like 30min, gentle incline) to get to them. so the only people that bother are a few hardy souls with three digit IQ who look at an OS map and go "hmm that looks like a nice spot"
on the other hand 10 min down the road someone turned an old ruin into a tourist theme park and it is so busy it is unbelievable. my grandmother likes the tearoom there and was complaining about the influencers littering the place

Trang lacks a nice public space in the center, which marred its appeal for me. IIRC Trang is where I bought my used sneakers for 200 baht at the rotfai night market. Six months later they're worn out but still functional.

For me it's Phattalung.
