What is a must do for a broke brazilian like me?

Walk. Seriously, just stroll around and see what kind of weird stuff you find. And get Chinese food in Flushing.

Queens and Brooklyn feel more real NYC than Manhattan, they're a lot less sterile. Somehow safer too, all the bums know to hang around Manhattan because that's where the rich clueless tourists hang out

Central Park/ highline/ battery park/ Staten Island ferry are all free anon. You can also get into the museums for free/cheap if you know a New York resident. For food the delis are where you want to go to get your best bang for your buck.

Also tons of events are hosted for free like movies in parks and local parades and shows.

Yeah, you’re probably going to do fine dude, especially if you are decently fit. I’d still probably recommend you link up with a Brazilian in NYC or just a local who you trust before you go if you want to have a really good experience. Lots of scammers in midtown Manhattan that prey on tourists.

always some weird random shit going on in the center. watch the skaters. smell the weed. watch dudes drink matcha and read physical books. watch free live performers. get shit on by pigeon

Even among big cities in the US you'd probably have much better success in LA or Miami

If you're on Manhattan fsr and want a non expensive meal, go to "Fuzhou Fish Balls" (forget the exact name) just outside of Manhattan Chinatown (on Bowery IIRC). They're like 8 dollars a set or something.

Seconded the Queens Flushing tip for Chinese food, far superior. Trouble is, Flushing is so out of the way vs. the rest of NYC, like on the other end of the 7 Line. Though that helps keep tourists away I suppose.
