Thoughts on phones for travel? My phone of almost 4 years xiaomi poco x3 is close to death. It gets 100%-20% after just a day of leisure strolling through streets of my mid size cold european city. But what if i tried it in the middle of dry season heat in some urban sprawl of giant asian metropolis. I imagine battery would get drained much much faster. I would get more worry out of such phone than any use. So please recommend my good traveller phone for longer travel, one that keeps good battery for prolonged GPS use

If in US, get a Pixel 8 or something. If not, just get whatever last years Samsung flagship was.

Pretty happy with my Moto G phone, though the older version lacks some functionality. Currently $89 on Amazon, but it was cheaper when I bought it. Battery life won't be long enough for your uberjeets job, however.

>Poco X3 NFC
mein nigga

Had the same phone that camera is GOAT. The poco X6 is a good upgrade desu

What I do is an iphone for my banking and other bullshit and use a Poco X6 Pro for pictures and stuff. Pixels are good if you want the esim functionality

Xiaomi has a lot of bloatware, have you tried using some battery management apps? There might be some background MIUI bullshit you can disable to squeeze another 20% out of it daily
My similar aged Xiaomi goes from 100% to 35% for a full days usage. I used AccuBattery I think, and a minimalist launcher

It's a great phone, perfectly fine for travel. Especially in Asia where there's Xiaomi repair stores everywhere. OP could probably get a new battery put in it for under $20 and it's good as new

>lagdroids, lagdroids everywhere
why don't you autistic low value males just get a normal phone (iPhone) like normal people? It's like you WANT people to look down on you even when you're traveling

>iPhone user talking about lag when Apple is notorious for intentionally crippling iPhones
Wow you're such an interesting person, I bet you buy coffee from Starbucks and take pictures of it for your Instagram.

The chipset is kinda old and it's kinda heavy, it's a good phone with a GOAT camera but I wouldn't be lying if I told OP he needs to upgrade. I went to an X6 Pro and pretty happy with it

This. Bought a Google Pixel 8 Pro recently. Google always slashes their prices like crazy. Get excellent tech cheap because it's Google and not Samsung or Apple

I wouldn't feel that bad as we're past peak smartphone. As long it has the right bands, it's not a problem.
And I'd be more worried about the signal than the actual climate. A giant metropolis should have better signal than a one tower small city. That, and look for bloatware

Not sure what others do but my setup is
>iPhone 12
All my banking apps, work related apps, main google accounts, google Fi US number, all flight/hotel apps.
>Xiaomi Note 12
Bar phone, out and about phone, main picture phone

This kind of setup is what I was thinking for my long stay in Japan since for some reason they fucking love Apple. I was kinda bummed back in January since my Xiaomi 12 didnt have support for e-sim.
