A bunch of friends have gone and returned with their kidneys intact from Armenia, they say it's pretty good as it is not a "touristy" destination
None have travelled outside Yerevan, however and I'm not able to find any good travel books for Armenia
I'm fluent in English, Russian and German, I assume nobody under 40 knows Russian and nobody over 40 knows English as all Eastern bloc/former soviet shitholes

Anyone been there? How are things outside Yerevan?

>I assume nobody under 40 knows Russian
You mean other than the large amount of Russians that live there?
>Anyone been there?
Yes, I like the other caucus countries more but it wasn't bad. It feels kind of like the Balkans but more Soviet. Great food and Russian whores.

Yerevan is a very nice city and the country side is also nice however development drops off a lot outside the capital. If you're after nature I found Dilijan really nice with some good hiking

>Russian whores
that surprises me ... why would they move to armenia for prostitution given it's a much poorer and smaller country

Were they in the habit of snorting anaesthetic drugs?

Do you use GDP per capita to argue that you should only pay her $20?

I'm not really sure, they said the people were friendly and I guess the weather is better. They weren't much cheaper than in Europe, but they were hot and service was great.

how do you get around this country? Like is there a good public transportation system or renting a car is absolutely necessary?

Is it possible to go to both Armenia and Azerbaijan in one trip? Both countries hate each other and there's no entry from the other

I've heard that you could do both with also adding georgia on top of it. But you have to go through them in a specific order or it gets problematic

Yes, as a tourist it's no problem, it's safer to go to Azerbaijan first, but I think they'll still let you in as long as you don't have an Armenian name or look like one. You pretty much have to transit through Georgia. I went Azerbaijan - Georgia - Armenia earlier this year, when I told the Armenian border girl I was only in Azerbaijan for tourism she didn't hassle me. It's possible you'll have trouble entering Georgia if you look too Indian/Arab/African, but that's unrelated.

No, it's not a good time to visit unless you love winter
But go anyway
You are likely to find some really good deals on rooms

On second thought, the all-time record high/low temps for Yerevan in March are 72 F / 10 F, with an average of seven days of snow per month. That's not too bad if you have a proper coat and shoes.
