how much money should I bring to a 3 day solo trip in New York city?

I want to go to museums and some bars, maybe go up some building or something

Cold is contextual. If you’re from the south, ya it will be cold. If you’re from Canada, it’s prob not that bad.

Bring as much as you can afford to spend.

NYC is expensive. Food is expensive. Drinks are expensive. Taxis are expensive.

I used to live in the city and I’d say it cost me $20 just to walk out my front door.

a "bar" in NYC can be anything from a dive that sells a beer and a pint for $5 to a high end place with $30+ cocktails. Most museums have discounted/pwyw days but it depends what museum you want to go to. Hotel can of course be highly variable as well but you're probably looking at $200+ a night for basic one in Manhattan.

Well you could pay 28 bucks as a tourist to go to the met.... Or you could just do what my friends and I do and sneak through the gift shop because I think it's funny that you can do that or snag one of those stickers.
I'm going to Scotland and Iceland in a few days but if you're here after November 12th I'm down to meet up and show you around

Run down per day:

ehh that is pretty light in NYC these days. Even fucking chicken and rice is like $12-$15 and that gets old fast. I would say food is $40-$60 minimum.

I was in new york months ago and didn’t spend more than 700$ for 5 days

the hotel I stayed in was 90$ I got a really good deal
