Two episodes in and I'm having a great time with this. Kudo going off and becoming super violent for little to no reason is really funny, the guy just starts fighting the homeless or the people he is working with without warning.
What other Kรดji kino should I watch? Is his non-ff stuff worth looking into?
Already seen Noroi, Occult and Sadako vs Kayako.

I don't even know if it's considered a horror movie, but I'm desperate to find a movie I watched a long time ago and can't remember the name of. Even AI has no idea what I'm talking about.
What I remember is a woman who's being held and tortured by a psycho (I think a female psychopath, an older woman), and she manages to escape (I think down a snowy hill) and then goes on to write books about it and try to heal from the ordeal, etc. I think she tries to find the woman who did it and ends up locating the daughter of the woman instead. She goes to meet the daughter, worried that she'd be a psychopath too, but the daughter ends up being very nice and normal. After talking with the psycho's daughter for a while, you hear the daughter's teenage son in the other room screaming about something. She says something about how the psycho gene skips a generation, and the son comes in, pops a pimple on his neck, and starts acting crazy, and then I guess the survivor woman has to help the mother get away from her crazy son
This would've come out no later than the mid-2000s, and no earlier than the late 90s I'm sure. Somebody here has to know obscure horror/thrillers from that time period
>>211340783just throwing it out there but it's not ghostland right?
>>211337487That's the Chadgento cut. Only the strongest Italians can rock it.
>>211341653No, that's way too recent. This would've had to come out somewhere between 1999-2003, give or take a few years.
I really want to find it and watch it again because it's one that I saw with my mother. She used to love going to Blockbuster and renting whatever horror movie or psychological thriller sounded cool, and then we'd watch it together
I don't remember a lot about it, but what I do remember, I remember pretty distinctly. The visual of the grandson making his entrance with the camera overhead, zooming in on a pimple on the back of his neck that he pops, sticks with me
>>211342144Nice psycho eyes.
>>211339965Which is the better series, Prom Night, Sleepaway Camp, or Slumber Party Massacre. I've seen the first from of the latter two.

>>211339419Is Nightreign any good? The trailer didn't impress very much.
>>211341968yeah i couldn't find anything either man but wish you luck on finding it

>>211343111Thanks, Anon. I'll keep hounding Chat GPT about it and maybe I can come up with the right detail to narrow it down. I just don't know why it's so difficult to find. I remember the production value being pretty decent and like a normal studio film-- it wasn't some micro-budget foreign film that nobody's heard of. If I do find it, I'll let you guys know what it is. I remember it being pretty cool

>>211343891I like friendly kitties like that. There's a stray cat that hangs out at the front door of where I work every so often, and the staff and customers all love it. Very friendly and loves attention. Everyone always assumes it's hungry, but it's well fed enough that it can be very picky about what you offer it.
There's also a little calico cat on the street next to mine that has the most vibrant, pumpkin-orange patch of fur I've ever seen. Just before the last big storm we had, he came up to me for pets like he was feeling nervous and needed to be calmed down.

>>211334961Based. The first half of the series is stronger but honestly Koji does an amazing job of writing these little plots that neatly come together as it goes on. I think the bar for found footage is so low I'm kind of fine with it just going through the motions, but he puts actual effort into making them work.
Haven't seen enough of his stuff outside of those so let me know if any is good!

Do you guys have charts like /film/ does? I only come here for recs for specific feelings, and they are never good. I asked an anon for a film like Inland Empire and they told me to watch Rec (2007). Wtf man?
>>211347069lmao.
to be fair, Inland Empire is a one of a kind. In fact it is perhaps the monolithic masterwork of modern film. A film pulsating with such raw energy that it's scarier than any horror despite not particularly being one.
there's a random selection here (don't have to download a zip or anything): https://mega.nz/folder/IPE2CAJL#oKJ14Z0JC4woJub5QK54Zg
>>211347069Also aside from watching every other film by Lynch, I recommend Picnic at Hanging Rock. And if you like that, Valerie and Her Week of Wonders (though you're gonna want to watch that one alone..)
>>211347200Thank you I appreciate your suggestions, but Iโve already watched all of Lynch and both of those films. Valerie is one of my favorites. I wasnโt too impressed by picnic at hanging rock and Iโve even read the book. The best scene is obviously where the girls disappear.

I can't decide if I liked this or not. It's completely watchable, and the deaths are spaced well. The lingering intrigue about what happened to everyone is done well, too. The problem is the ending tries way too hard for its own good to the point it ruins the movie. Reeker, the villain, doesn't make any sense prior to the ending. Somehow it's supernatural, but can be hurt by human weapons. The fuck sense does that make? IDK, has anyone else seen the movie, and what are your thoughts on it?
>>211347831I was telling a woman in a dream this morning not to drink soft drinks because they'll ruin her health. we were sitting in a fast food place at the time, and she'd asked me how to stay healthy, so I told her.
>>211347831Same as you, can't eat a delightful dish while watching shit, got to focus on one thing at a time

Hi bros I watched smile at last, and now Ive started smile 2.
Pretty good man!
Do you think Stu is coming back for real or just as an AI deep fake? I wanna see him curb stomp that insufferable bitch Mindy American History X style so bad. It would single handedly redeem Scream 5 and 6.
>>211334961Fucking kek these are brilliant. I watched most of them on YouTube. Kudo( is that his name?) is wild I love the way he slaps everyone around to get them into shape, even his woman. I think he even kicked her on one occasion lmao.
Very fun watch.
>>211334961It gets more ridiculous as the series goes on, and it's amazing. ALL of his FF stuff is pure kino. He somehow manages to make shit-tier CGI into comfy greatness.
>Is his non-ff stuff worth looking into?Grotesque is good and has the most hilariously stupid motive for the villain's action. The entire movie is so unrealistic, but it just works IMO.
>>211351196Ghoulies 3 is best in the series so anything's going to be worse.
>>211348608ls this one of those endings where they've been dead the whole time?
>>211351649I think it'll be AI.
I agree though, Mindy having a satisfying kill scene is essential for this movie to be good.
>>211351649I hope he's back for real. I also hope they're like fuck it, Skeet Ulrich is now his own crazy uncle who started it all, and alive in 3d because by the 7th in a franchise you should give no fucks
They're prob just flashback deepfakes for "realism" but I hope they're not
>>211351649He should be back for real, and it's insanely easy to plausibly write him back into the series. The fact that the new movie timeskipped to have Sidney's daughter as the protag, makes it perfect for him to comeback, or even have his own son/daughter infiltrate to get to Sidney. The easiest way to write him back in is to say that Roman was hanging near the party and saved Stu, since Roman was the mastermind behind it all anyway. It would make sense that he was nearby.
>>211353112Stu crazy rich too so even without Roman, it was always plausible someone else's body was recovered from under the tv, especially with the amount of random bodies that could have been in the house by the end
>>211353142>he thinks nazi means anything anymore
>>211353202I just think having Roman responsible would be best, just because he's the reason for everything to begin with. He's also mostly forgotten by many, since Scream 3 isn't looked on as favorably as the others.
>>211353142Mindy is an obnoxious character and the only reason to have her survive two films is if they're going to kill her off in some grand fashion this time around. There's no need for this snarky side character to keep coming back otherwise.
>>211353274Yeah but then you have to work out why Roman didn't use him earlier, and there's always the problem that Stu was just going along for the ride
If you have him escape on his own, bully resources from the parents and develop his own grudge then you can get a lot more bang out of his return.
>thunderstorm warning
>Old dark house mysteries
My night is planned
>>211353314>snarky side characterThe concern is the writer might be too oblivious to know how hated she is. He might think she's actually quirky and charismatic.
>>211353317>why Roman didn't use him earlierAfter Mickey & Nancy failed, he probably figured the only way the job would get done was if he did it himself.
The problem with Stu getting money from his parents is that means they knew he survived and kept it quiet the entire time. While possible, just more likely nobody else knew of him surviving or he could have killed his parents after getting what he needed from them sometime later. Stu's sister is still alive, so there's a chance both of them team up in the new movie.
>>211353400An anon after my own heart.
>>211353545>kept it quiet the entire timeTbf this is plausible because Vince being his nephew didn't register. They're the kind of rich parents that let their kid throw a kegger during a murder spree, and only be mad if he was found responsible. They could have kept him locked up until their death as a rich family secret when the sister is like, hey wanna do some revenge?
The keeping the kid that turns into a monster locked in the basement has a lot of previous horrors to draw on
>>211353613Added. I probably don't need as many as I have but I'm a sucker for Bela Lugosi
>>211351519Ok second one was a bit poo. She kills herself at the end in front of everyone and not one fucking fan got their phone out to start recording. Thatโs so unrealistic :d

>>211360744>It's an oriental cigarette Could you get opiate cigarettes back then? Because that is a perfect product
only thing I've liked about Art in a Clownfield so far is that a guy in rural america actually has a big gun and owns a lot of the killers
Any other slashers like that?
It's crazy how so many of the classic slashers take place in small towns and such yet nobody has a gun as if they were modern day New York liberals or whatever
While we're at it, what slashers other than Art actually use guns?
>>211360612the one with the actual pedo vampire teacher if only because they had the balls to make him a pedo
>>211362142The 'final girl is actually a much more dangerous killer than the killers' is always great.
>>211362142Halloween Kills, Evil Dies Tonight!
>>211339885Death Ship and Shock Waves would also be a good duo
>>211358427She was hot in House On Haunted Hill too.
>>211358712Yes. (is it just grape every time?)
>>211359305Arkansas here, can confirm.
>>211362422>>211358427I like her on Witch Hunters the most
>>211362760>is it just grape every time?I don't know if it's ever been grape. Last year it was pink starburst and the year before it was cherry airheads.
>>211348608Yeah similar feeling. The individual elements are good, but only tie together in theory rather than feeling coherent.
Like Kolobos thought it's a bit of a gem.
>>211358518Lel, I had really negative thoughts about it right after viewing but the more I thought back on it the more I just remembered the parts I liked. Good to know since I will avoid doing the same...
There is literally no new creature kino to watch...........
>>211354273Thoughts on this film?
>>211364966Is that Arachnid?
>>211364966Sometimes it's better not to know its gonna be a creature film and you just stumble upon them.
>>211365308That's never ever a thing though.
I can only see that happening with something like From Dusk Till Dawn and even then the era of watching movies just because they're on tv or by reading a movie cover is long long gone
>>211364966What do you mean? Infested was kino.

>>211365376It is when you watch lots of movies. I mean I watched Arcadian and didn't know what to expect. Or Daddy's Head.
>>211365631I do watch a lot of horror but I'll always look at least at the synopsis, if only to find metaphor or trauma horror
>>211364966Asylum remade The Land That Time Forgot again. Haven't seen it yet.

>>211340258>>Prom Night 4Calls itself prom night 4 has nothing to do with the previous movies. Still enjoyable and fun ride with sexy girls. They also made an unofficial prom night 5 (The Club 1994) with the same actor as the villain.
>>211368063lol he probably watched it under the stairs while they were upstairs
>>211368067Yeah, I haven't run across 3 anywhere yet either but 4 is an ok slasher in it's own right.
>captche" DJANTNot horror, but I'd watch it.

>>211368067Yes, 4 is okay as a stand alone movie, but not as a sequel to 2 and 3. I guess 2 and 3 have nothing to do with the original, but I'm bias and think they should have kept going with the Mary Lou storyline instead of trying to reboot it again and killing it.

>>211335794>Directed by Quentin TarantinoHe just couldn't help himself with the fanservice with that one scene kek. Casting the actor that looks like Elon Musk as the shitty father hating his own child was chef's kiss.
>A History of Violence is getting a 4k before The Fly
Fuck Fox/Disney
>>211368612I legit though the father was Elon Musk at first kek. Abigail also had a Musk look-alike, not sure if it was the same actor.
>>211367983Brutal. Did you notice the redhead from Lowlifes was the MCs roommate for one scene at the start as well?
did anyone else see Bring Her Back 2025? I saw it in cinemas because i wanted to support SA films. I thought the plot was very conventional but the knife sequence with the boy and him chewing on it and fucking up his teeth made me gag holy shit i had to look away
Also i claim Sally Hopkins as my milf waifu, i want to try to impregnate her in vain but we try anyway and roleplay as such just because its be hot

>>211351463Been interested in a couple of his earlier flicks, which you'd think he'd try to rerelease with English subs or dubs now that he's gotten traction in the English-speaking world, but no.
>>211368067>Calls itself prom night 4 has nothing to do with the previous moviesNot like 2 and 3 had anything to do with 1. The only thing all four have in common is the same school and I guess 4 opening on the same night as 2.

>>211357685Did you bring your wife to the movie with you? Did you guys bring anyone back from the movie with you?
>>211357685Yeah, it's a drama that doesn't want to be boring so tries to layer on some horror.
Also the major plot points were stupid. Why did they forget the sun would come up.
>>211372285Fuck, fuck, fuck.
>>211357685Vamp was first.
>>211372995>In the film, three college students visit a strip club with the intention of hiring a stripper for a college fraternity. The stripper who impresses them turns out to be a powerful vampireis it good?

>>211373421I love the HHLLC series, but it not being FF is retarded as fuck. I'll still watch it and probably love it, especially if it involves the county fair and they're rebuilding the cult.
