I read some reactions from people that went to early screenings of Weapons: not exactly impressed. it’s going to be this year’s Longlegs. Alex's parents are braindead almost the entire time and he has to feed them soup by hand into their mouths. They can barely even swallow it, but they'll die if not fed in this vegetative state. She manipulates almost every character in the film save for Alex, who she needs to maintain a semblance of normalcy in the house. She was able to make the kids run out of the house by using the Valentine's cards Alex got in another voodoo ritual. The kids hide in the basement, lifeless and immobile while Gladys drains their life force. She can force people to go into an animalistic murderous rage, where they absolutely will not stop, exhibit any sign of pain or exhaustion until they've either killed their victims, or been killed.

I'm actually halfway through reading the script now and it is very good so far.
