You can neither buy or sell it; you either have it or you don't. Hulk Hogan can cup his ear, Steve Austin can flip the bird, The Rock can cock an eyebrow, and its these subtle and small gestures and trademarks of these performers that can have arenas filled with thousands of different people eating out of the palms of their hands. Reeves has this down pat, like a model on a runway that is only there to be the clohes rack with a pulse, Keannu is there to be you in his shoes in his movie that he is in. The guy has been in more hits than duds and every one of those hits, the same complaints of wooden acting come out but it gets drowned out by the role he chose, the world he's helping create, and his skill as a performer shining through. The films he chooses are the range. You get what you paid to see with Reeves, but he still manages to come through the camera and captivate your attention with what it is that he does as opposed what he doesn't do or ought to be doing in the movies. By you saying you could do a better performance than Reeves does is Keanu doing his job; he's subconsciously putting you into the shoes of the role he is playing and doing it well.
Reeves doesn't seem to be up his ass like other celebrities and is more or less grounded despite his fame, fortune and impact on the industry. He's had something of a very tragic life and that garners sympathy.

Because he seems like a genuinely decent man in real life.
