Original video game narratives are fucking terrible. They rely on clichés, tropes, and generic plots to get by. Turning these into movies just spreads that laziness to the big screen. We don't need that kind of generic action on screens.
Games drag on and on because you need to spend hours doing the same shit over and over again to level up or collect items.and that's boring as hell. Turning a game into a movie means turning cinema into fan service. Videogame stories are made by fans, for fans, and trying to pass that in a movie full of references and nods that only hardcore gamers will get is to appeal to a small audience. Movies need to appeal to everyone, not just a niche group of fucking nerds.. And games don't have depth, they are full of fucking cheesy one-liners and corny dialogue so what's the fucking point?
Games are full of shit like that, and it's boring as hell.
