These guys lost their spark years ago, but it took me until like 3 years ago to fully come to terms with it. I’m a RLM old fag, I discovered them when their phantom menace review had only been uploaded for a week. I remember their first half in the bag being uploaded and hating the format, I wanted more plinkett, but they quickly grew on me and they became my favorite channel for years. There was a stretch of time for a few years where I was giddy with excitement for their new uploads, I’d check their channel regularly and get genuinely excited when a new half in the bag popped up. Getting a new plinket review was like being a kid on Christmas morning. I can’t quite pin point what’s happened to them, but it feels like Mike and Jay have both gone a little woke, especially Mike, the way he regularly says “white people” with a negative connotation attached to it is cringy. He does this often. It feels self whipping. Their reviews aren’t truthfully mean spirited anymore, it feels like they’re tip toeing around being too critical, trying not to offend anyone. It’s like they want to leave the door open for potential celebrity collaborations, but this mindset hurts their honesty. They could easily be killing it still by dismantling the disaster of the MCU and the old DCEU but all they want to review is straight to streaming nonsense. Idk, maybe they’ve just gotten old, especially Mike, and they’ve lost their youthful vigor. But they really are quite dull now. I mean they couldn’t even be bothered to watch the whole Minecraft movie, yet they still reviewed it. And their best of the worst hasn’t been funny in years.

I had a similar experience. my roommate showed me the phantom menace plinkette review when it came out and we had a gay ole time watching it. then I never watched anything more from them. I didn't even have the concept of following online creators.
then years later I watched the plinkette reviews again and got into hitb.
