I've seen this OP before. Do better.
>>211401947this gif needs to be 2 seconds longer
>>211401884 (OP)Dr. Bashir? I'm S31.
In light of SNW being cancelled. Two things can be true at once. One: SNW likely had dogshit ratings for being a direct prequel to one of the most iconic shows of all time. And two: five seasons is a normal run for the streaming era. Even popular shows like Stranger Things only got five 8 episode seasons. TV shows just arenโt meant to have 200-300 episodes anymore, and thatโs okay.
>>211401884 (OP)>>211402052Well, Sloan, you got yourself caught.
What's your next step in your master plan?
there is this really odd artifact that shows up occasionally sometimes its on the other side of the screen, I'm wondering if its just the version I'm watching or if it would still show up on the dvds or streaming versions
>>211402130Cloaked Warbird! Reid Alert!
>>211402120Purging the Romulan Senate... with no survivors!
Good Morning Crewmen!
You won't be needing those replicator rations today, I've whipped up another batch of my delicious Leola Root stew, famous all throughout the delta quadrant... care for a bowl?
>>211402177I've never watched Voyager and this thing makes me not want to. Can you explain to me what the fuck they were thinking when they designed this alien? It's off putting in every single fucking way. The thing I hate the most is his creepy baby teeth
>>211402102The ratings must not have been the worst in the world if they're letting them make a Season 5 when Season 3 hasn't come out yet. I hope it means that they're going to try clean the slate. By the time that Season 5 airs I imagine that the Academy show and that comedy will be ending around the same time.
>>211402150I like this explanation the artifact only shows up in bits like this, so a warbird has been stalking the rio grande since season one this is now my head canon would be crazy if it showed up the next time the rio grande gets blown up
>>211402205Seconding this. TNG/DS9 are my eternal vibe. Iโll get to VOY eventually, just not this year.
But what the fuck is Neelix supposed to be? A cat/lizard hybrid?
>>211402102ratings have almost nothing to do with how long a show runs. studio pays for development and pays it off on the books for 3-5 years which lowers the cost of production for each season. once the clock runs out they are paying full price for production. if they spend that money on developing a new show instead they get to spread it out another 3-5 years and the cylce continues. academy was greenlit because snw was going to be canceled. snw was greenlit because std was going to be canceled. the sitcom was greenlit because LD was canceled.
good news for trek fans, skydance doesnt isnt taking over paramount to keep doing the same can kicking that almost ran them out of business.
>>211402283>>211402205you need to watch it 5 or 10 times to get it. ds9 and tng actually get worse the more you watch
Well you see there are tiers of star trek shows and it goes in order from top to bottom
>Star Trek Original Series
>Star Trek TNG, Star Trek Voyager
>Star Trek Enterprise
>Star Trek Deep Space Nine
>any other star trek at the bottom
Not including movies. This is a definitive and incorrigible ranking. I have watched each of these shows so I know.
>>211402331nta but I've been watching tos tng and ds9 for over 2 decades and its never gotten worse
>>211402344>incorrigible: meaning>An incorrigible person or incorrigible behaviour is bad and impossible to change or improvethat is indeed and incorrigible ranking aka bad
>>211402360you must not pay attention to all the retardation like letting random ferengi wander around enterprise or the federation going to war because a non federation planet refused to repect the dominions borders.
>>211402331I wouldnโt say they get worse. Just the cracks get more visible. You see dropped plotlines and characters more easily. A lot of great Star Trek episodes have neat premises that completely fall apart under any scrutiny.
>>211402411no I think thats far less of a problem then a schizophrenic captain obsessed with coffee and her equally schizophrenic crew
>>211402344Sorry, we already have an OFFICIAL Trek tier list voted by the boys on the 'cord, sponsored by The Pod.
>>211402480this is correct
>>211402444it works because of the equally schizophrenic crew. its like a double negative
>>211402524so its like mr burns with so many diseases none of them can get through the door? ok I'll buy that, still given the choice I would not want to be anywhere near that fucking ship, bunch of lunatics.
>>211402283>But what the fuck is Neelix supposed to be? A cat/lizard hybrid? He is the Snarf
>>211402287>the sitcom was greenlitNothing has been greenlit. Nothing will be greenlit. Secret Hideout is just flailing, desperately trying to keep their lucrative contract with Paramount going. SNW is going to end with a pity five-episode "season" that will be just more creatively bankrupt nostalgia faggotry. NuTrek is going to end with adventures of DEI teenagers in Starfleet Academy, assuming the show won't get just Zaslav'd outright. Skydance wants to put the franchise on ice, because much like Kurtzman, they think it's not bringing in the numbers anymore.
NuTrek is dead. Bury it. Consider this mercy.
>>211402205>I've never watched Voyager It's comfy AF. But yeah, Neelix is BY FAR the worst thing about the show. He's super annoying and barely tolerable but he doesn't ruin it because the rest of the rest of the crew is so great.
>>211402480sister deep space nine is borderline not trek
>>211403043incorrrect ds9 is peak trek
Rewatching TOS. Just watched The Savage Curtain. I like Yarmek as an antagonist because other aliens who pit Kirk against foes for "research" always do it until the death. Yarmek instead at the end of the episode basically admits he learnt nothing from the whole endeavour and lets them leave.
>>211403025hardly, the doctor is great, tuvok is good, paris can be comfy, oh and 7of9 has some great assets, thats about it.
>>211402935Hereโs what I think will happen:
The new seasons will be dumped on P+ all at once with hardly any marketing. Even the journos will ignore it. Maybe one lone autist will continue the Memory Alpha writeups. NuTrek will end with a whimper and be washed away in the sea of streaming failures.
>>211403106your not making any sense, typical of an insaneway fan
>>211403075This is what that screenshot looks like to someone who isnโt at that episode yet.
This Enterprise design was so peak, with we could've seen it in action more than once.
>>211402344>incorrigiblewhy do zoomers always throw in some random "big" word they don't know the definition of
>>211403043Sorry, pal. It's been voted on, by the 'cord. 'Cord votes cannot be challenged.
If you refuse to abide by the OFFICIAL /trek/ tier list, your assets will be seized, your business license revoked, and no /trek/ poster will be allowed to reply to your posts.
>>211403208said literally no-one ever the two nacelle design is perfect, that looks bad, this looks band anything with more then 2 looks bad, its like a woman with 3 breasts it just doesn't work
>>211403320I think you could put a third nacelle on the NX-01 and it wouldn't look too bad because of how flat it is.
>>211403320I get where you're coming from, but the thing that's appealing about it is the context that it's been refit specifically as a warship. That's what makes it cool
>>211403393>wouldn't look too baddoesn't mean good, I quite like the NX-1 design, a third nacelle might not look as jarring as it does on the ent-d, but that doesn't mean its an improvement
>>211403415the only thing cool about it is the big ass super phaser below the saucer section, the third nacelle looks stupid
>>211402344Correct except I'm swapping ENT and DS9, with an explanatory note that there's a significant power gap between TNG/VOY and DS9.

>>211404071So is it just illegal for the federation to reclaim one of their colonies? Why'd they allow a federation world to break out into civil war in the first place? Prime directive?
>>211404440You have to understand that the Federation are hypocrites because the Prime Directive is hypocritical. The concept itself was created by naive hippies who were tired of the Cold War and thought you can just expect other civilizations to adhere to the same standards you do.
>>211404440>reclaimyou are assuming tarkana IV was ever a fed colony, human colony's exist outside the federation, not all secede some simply were never fed in the first place, remember the one Data got trapped on?

>>211404547there is no reason to assume tarkana IV was ever federation, human does not automatically mean federation
>>211404648Even then, you have to understand that the Prime Directive is a horrible fucking idea. Imagine some alien warlord deciding to genocide everyone outside of Federation's borders. They'd be powerless to stop them.
>>211404731>Imagine some alien warlord deciding to genocide everyone outside of Federation's borders.once someone else interferes you get to intercede. see also kirk providing muskets to space davy crockett because the klangs did it first
>>211404440The S31 movie should have been about Starfleet instigating a war on Turkana IV like our CIA does in the Middle East. That way you get both worldbuilding and social commentary.

>>211405048>explain how humans colonize other planets without the involvement of and facilitation by the Federationrewatch Up The Long Ladder and you will see
>>211403070Too many filler episodes. A lot of hard core Trek out DS9 at #1 but early seasons were so unbelievably mid they had to bring in Worf to save the show. The later seasons with the Dominion war are good though.
Voyager is comfier overall and has more rewatchability than any other Trek outside of TNG and TOS.
>>211404796source? and don't post the fucking wiki I want an actual in show source
>>211404885its not explicit but that would be consisent with every other human population away from earth (except the 37s) all humans are united earth citizens and subsequently federation citizens unless they speficically renounce their citizenship. turkana IV left, the maquis left, terra nova left.
and then the feds killed all the maquis to protect non fed bajor from the cardassians. its fucking bullshit. it sucks
>>211405167>prime directive is because of the way we act on earthWhat is happening on Earth is proving that the Prime Directive is a dogshit idea. You can't just bury your head in the sand and pretend you're not a part of it.
>>211405194I completely disagree, I am on a ds9 rewatch right now and while worf is fine on this rewatch i'm actually kinda annoyed with him, the dynamic between the og crew was getting so comfy and then they threw worf into the mix. I don't hate you for preferring Voy I simply am bewildered how you could.
>>211405205>consisent with every other human population away from earth (except the 37s) all humans are united earth citizensagain, no; the mariposans and bringloidi were from a pre-united earth (iirc, the "european hegemony")
>>211405243yes you can, space is a big place if some backwards fucktards want to kill each other leave them to it, you monitor the situation, you forget one side or the other can always ask for fed assistance, if they don't do that then the feds stay out of it.
>>211405280There will always be spacejeets exploiting your faulty legislation. You can look to real world history to see how non-interference policies have always been exploited by regimes.
Prime Directive is simply too naive to be realistic.
>>211405425when you are the most powerful empire by a huge margin then petty disputes by non affiliated worlds really don't matter
>>211405472Okay, you want an example of this? Let's say some alien warlord decides to go on a rampage across non-affiliated worlds, and then starts hurling billions of refugees towards Federation space as a form of hybrid warfare. Non-interference doesn't work.
>>211405200you need to make some common sense inferrences
there are no earth colonies before united earth so every colonist starts as an earth citizen.
earth citizens automatically became fed citizens when the federation was formed in 2161, almost 200 years before the turkana 4 colony ended relations with the federation.
so we can draw the simple conclusion that turkana 4 colonists were fed citizens
or we can break our backs bending backwards to imagine that turkana 4 colony secceded from earth before the federation was established and then thrived for at least 150 years before falling apart for no apparent reason.
>>211405524that directly impacts the federation and they first send out diplomatic requests when that doesn't work they send a fleet, its not that complicated, if said warlord is directly impacting on federation affairs then said warlord is dealt with, simple as.
>>211405100Was she cracked out in RL? It seemed that way to me. Like it's something the fanbase would be totally up to speed on but I was never a hired cirr enough ENT fan to follow up in it.
the Prime Directive IS an ideal and therefore up to interpretation on how to apply it to any given situation. if it's actually being exploited by enemies in a way that's going to overall cause greater harm then that would be taken into account that's why it's a fucking "directive" and a not the "supreme law of the universe"
>>211405583yes thats correct and we have many examples of non federation colonies established outside of the federation, no reason to think turkana IV isn't one of them.
>>211405586>if said warlord is directly impacting on federation affairs then said warlord is dealt withBased on what? The warlord is not actively attacking the Federation and responding with military action would be an act of war. Weaponizing refugees is a legal grey area and even real world countries do not treat it like an act of aggression.
And that's without mentioning that the Prime Directive would be holding the Federation by the balls, they wouldn't do shit. They'd just take it because PD is a cucked concept.

>>211405670no they wouldn't they would confront the warlord because they are being flooded with refugees this is where you are mixing up real life with star trek
>>211405259>Computer, locate exact dates in which this signal beacon was in general use.COMPUTER: Old Earth calendar, 2123 until 2190.
>2190> the Federation was founded in 2161does not prove your point but its close
>>211405801>this is where you are mixing up real life with star trekThat's the point. Real world politics proves that the Prime Directive would not work. Sure, humanity might be more enlightened in the future, but there will always be more savage civilizations willing to exploit it.
>they would confront the warlordSo they would declare war, giving the warlord a valid casus belli against the Federation, giving him exactly what he wanted. See, non-interference is not plausible.
>>211405801>they would confront the warlordWhy hasn't anyone confronted Putin yet?
>>211405863>Real world politics proves that the Prime Directive would not work.no it doesn't because the real world deals with a single planet and tech and a social structure that is nothing like the federation, again your attempt to make a 1:1 comparison between star trek and real life is whats tripping you up.
its funny how humans like raktajino and blood wine
The Prime Directive doesn't apply to humans.
>>211405614>manyname 4
>>211405696their status is unclear. possibly established after the federation was formed.
>>211405903this isn't star trek? its one little planet where we are all interconnected in one way or another, whats the confusion?
>>211405922>again your attempt to make a 1:1 comparison between star trek and real life is whats tripping you upI think it's a valid comparison. Star Trek is not some fantasy world. It should at least be believable, science fiction should be plausible. But the Prime Directive is just not a plausible concept.
>>211405952you've already had enough named, you are desperate to drag this into a real world conversation when it simply isn't.
>>211405965The point is that Putin has been waging a hybrid war against the West for years now and no one dares to interfere. The Federation wouldn't deal with a Space Putin either but they also have the Prime Directive holding them back.
>>211405862>>211405952the European Hegemony was in charge of the ship launch - the dates of Federation founding were fudged after that episode and it is clearly an error. The EH was explicitly mentioned in the episode
>>211405993it is plausable you are just discounting that we a dealing with a 3rd of the quadrent thats what the federation is, it is massive and doesn't reply on anything outside it self it only explores and brings in new civilizations to better itself and the rest of the federation. They can blacklist entire sectors if they aren't up for a conversation. Its an entirely different scenario, we are talking thousands of planets and the most advanced tech and civilization, it is not remotely comparable to anything in the real world.
>>211406043ok read this
>>211406132your attempts to shove star trek into this tiny little box is simply stupid, idk how else to explain it.
>>211406132>it is not remotely comparable to anything in the real worldPolitics will always be the same. It doesn't matter if you're dealing with two tribes throwing spears at each other, or Type V civilizations hurling Dyson Spheres at each other. There will always be bad law and less-civilized entities willing to exploit it.
>>211406207>or Type V civilizations hurling Dyson Spheres at each other.whoa dude weed, what if colliding galaxies were higher level beings sending giant mass drivers at each other, man
(oh wait that was a thing in Voyager with the Q)
>>211406207no thats entirely my point it won't always be the same because the terrain has completely changed, a gigantic civilization spanning thousands of worlds and races is quite simply not threatened at all by some 1/2 assed warlord, its not even a remote possibility, even the cardys were only a minor inconvenience until the Dominion another gigantic civilization spanning thousands of worlds and races got involved, and even then the feds won.
I hate the courtroom drama episodes. They fill me with an intense sense of dread. Like, the only reason whoever is on trial isn't sentenced guilty despite being innocent is always because of bad writing. Realistically, if people even so much as suspect that you could be guilty, they will just say you're guilty and that's that. The only time anyone is found innocent in a court of law is because of a miracle or because it's a woman on trial. So all these ridiculous Star Trek courtroom episodes just prove to me that the only way I could ever survive being unjustly accused is if the world simply magically decided I deserved plot armor like them - and that makes me fear and hate society even more.
>>211406314>Dominion another gigantic civilization spanning thousands of worlds and races got involved, and even then the feds won.pfft no there were 3 races that acted as a single race and then one penal colony planet and one blighted planet that only existed to show that the Domnion was evil. the Gamma quadrant was not portrayed as a real place as far as Srar Trek goes
>>211406314>thousands of worlds and racesThousands of worlds and races interconnected by systems, anon. Disrupt a trade lane and suddenly Soffin Secundus can't feed its citizens and people start rioting. Or, Relek VIII gets flooded by refugees, crippling the local energy production plant, cutting off energy to Dessar. Sure, some worlds might be self-sustainable, but most probably aren't. I've played enough Stellaris to know this.
The Federation is completely unequipped to deal with that kind of threat.
>>211406003so you cannot name 4?
>>211406083dates are what they are. federation founded 2161. european hegemony beacons continued to be used until 2190. fed status of these colonies remains unverified.
>>211406546no the jem hadar and the vorta were the administrators and enforcers, idk why i'm even replying to you, you are an idiot, its well established the dominion is a massive empire that is in control of once again thousands of worlds and races.
>the gamma quadrant wasn't a real placeI mean really why even bother debating with you? you're just going to dismiss anything that goes against your narrative.
>>211406556but we saw countless times that they are very well equipped to deal with disruptions they do it all the time.
>>211402205how can you not love this loveable space clown?
>>211406546you just might be retarded, multiple races were shown who live under the dominion the race that made the jem hadar torpedoes comes to mind for instance. Just because you don't see it on screen doesn't mean its not the case, literally everyone in the gamma quadrant talks about how they work for the dominion, you don't need to see each and every planet, same as you don't need to see each and every planet or race in the federation the klingon empire or the romulan or cardy empire, they are mentioned that is enough.
>>211406132The Federation is literally EU-NATO in space. Like almost a 1 to 1.
>>211406693I'm not even the guy you're arguing with but the fact of the matter is the Domnion is just not realistic. the scale on which they were operating was not as if they controlled an entire quadrant with THOUSANDS of races and planets and resources to call upon.
>>211406545there are only 2 good ones, TOS and Ds9, Court Martial and Tribunal
>>211406884>they don't have to have it actually in the show just write your own fanfiction and then im right, retardfascinating argument
>>211406966I dont like the ones on DS9 either.
>>211406886no it isn't but we've been going in circles over this for hours now, you simply can't accept that this isn't one planet and its a lot different, I don't see any point in continuing the discussion
>>211406895you on the other hand just need to stop talking about star trek altogether, sisko stopped all dominion reinforcements from coming through the wormhole 1/2 way through the war he made a deal with the prophets, thats the only reason the feds won. Stop posting you don't know what you are talking about.
>>211406895I watched a super hard core nerd channel vid breaking down to a granular level a hypothetical full scale Dominion vs Borg war and it was damn close. Like almost a tossup.
>>211407040except for Tribunal neither do I the other one is the worf trial and while it could've worked the story itself is fine, they do this bizarre 4th wall break thing where the characters talk to the camera mid cross examination, and during flashbacks to the incident, I get they were trying for something different but it doesn't work. Oh actually I like measure of a man, and I like the doctor's "trial" on voy so I guess I like one court room ep per show, can't think of one on Ent,
>>211406895very correct. ds9 also competely ignores the fact that the dominion would not be thwarted by closing the wormhole. they have the resources to go the long way.
WHAT the actual FUCK are you bozos talking about now
Discuss something intelligent please, like what is the circumference of T'Pols boobbss
>>211407054>sisko stopped all dominion reinforcementsconsisting of ONE race operating ONE class of ship with ONE Vorta to tardwrangle them x 2800

>>211407586if the federation wanted to they could go to aldea and use their deflector beam to send an armada to the heart of dominion territory in minutes.
it pretty silly to suggest that the dominion wouldnt be able to figure out a way around the wormhole considering they are portrayed as single minded lunatics committed to destroying any resistance at any cost. they just twiddled their thumbs back in delta. didnt use the blight doctors to cure changeling aids. didnt send a fleet the long way to destroy the federation in 50 years. just took the L.
>>211402205they wanted to make a character the fans would see themselves in

>>211408129they dont need transwarp. they are immortal. 50 years at tradtional warp is nothing. and theres a whole episode about the dominion doctors being better than bashir so the whole bit with odo giving them uncurable aids is ridiculous. theyre a billion years old. theyres nothing the feds could throw at them they havent already seen

>>211408129Nta but why not just fortify the shit out of their side of the wormhole? Tachyon detection grids and antimatter mines, ezpz
>>211408511i dont like that the war started because thats explicity not how the dominion operates. there would be no reinforcements for sisko to block in the wormhole because the first wave would have ended the federation immediately. since the dominion never flexes the muscle it supposedly has we can only draw one conclusion. they were full of shit and only controlled a small number of shitter civs. they never had any chance against the federation and all of the drama was for nothing.
remember how they said specifically that "Vorta doctors" were working on a cure? the little toady diplomat race that descended from baby monkies is the best they have to work on a cure for a disease that will genocide the Founders. there's not a single other race in the WHOOOOOOOLE Gamma quadrant full of THOUSANDS of races loyal to the Dominion that would be better for the task. almost like there's FUCKING NOTHING actually going in the Gamma quadrant. but hey just use your imagination
>>211408785โmember when the Vorta had cool telepathic abilities? I โmember.
Iโm a lifelong fan but very little of it is well written or bears particular scrutiny. Itโs space magic nigger, they ainโt got to be consistent for shit
>>211408707see thats reasonable idea, you mean the dominion right? first there was never even a question after the first attempt that the alpha quadrant could ever attack the dominion on its home turf. However if they didn't make peace and the dominion was still aggressive then a constant one sided wave of attack without any ability to strike back would've led to the death of the dominion sooner or later, as worf once said a siege mentality will inevitably lead to defeat.
>>211408666Checked and smelly Vulcan vagoo for everyone
>>211408666Nobody has still answered my question I have been wondering for years.
Did Jolene have an IRL substance problem and was the show trying to tell us something?
>>211408743or they thought they could send wave after wave into the alpha quadrant which is exactly what they were trying to do when sisko denied them use of the wormhole.
>>211408785or they have been subjugated for thousands of years as is stated multiple times, crushing any chance of another race achieving anything of worth, any threat to the dominion is brought to heel, this is explained over and over, you are so fucking stupid.
>>211408968Like I said the writing was never terribly good. If the dominion were the isolationists they claimed they shouldโve easily been able to secure their side and murder anything that came through, but then weโd have missed out on the dominion war arc which was awesome. Donโt think too hard about it lest you lose enjoyment of it is all Iโm saying
>>211408983What would even make you think this? She's never had any reported substance abuse issues.
>>211409064why wait? did they have limited resources in gamma?
whoops. you loose.
>>211408743There were multiple deus-ex asspulls for why the Federation won the Dominion war and none of it had anything to do with the Federation military what are you smoking.
>>211409143the war arc sucks though. star trek is about avoiding war.
>>211408970It's definitely not smelly. Vulcan women have an acute sense of smell, T'pol would know if her pussy stank
>>211409143securing their side isn't really a problem, it never was, but once the war was won in the alpha quadrant they are fucked as the entire alpha quadrant is pissed off and can send ships back and forth through the wormhole and all the dominion can do is try and weather it.
>>211409141>crushing any chance of another race achieving anything of worthbut you said according to your fanfiction they were contributing resources and technology behind the scenes because the Dominion OBVIOUSLY has more to it than we see in the show, so which is it?
>>211408941>Chanelings infiltrated the top echelons of Alpha quadrant powers >Dominion super battleship which annihilated the Valiant >Can create incurable super AIDS plagues just for laughs>Clones with genetic memory that can out attrition any enemy that needs 18+ years to make replacements I member
>>211409153That is what I was asking. Because the actress looked cracked out in later seasons. Like the whole addiction arc seemed a little too believable. If you are saying there were no rumors back then then I'll take your word for it.
>>211409180no pleas try and read what I wrote, they are sending their second fleet through the wormhole when sisko closes it, think about it, they send one advanced attack fleet through sisko stops the second one and all the others. Now come on think about it logically, what happens if sisko doesn't close the wormhole to the dominion? 3rd fleet? the 4th fleet? the 5th fleet? etc etc.
do you guys remember when the Breen nuked Starfleet Academy and just got away with it? lol
>>211409302yes under the rule of the dominion they were subjects this isn't a fan thoery or head canon its explained by the show on multiple occasions, I see that you continue to ignore starship down, if any race gets it in their head to start out stripping the dominion they come down hard. How do you not get this? have you even watched ds9?
>>211409244Yes and no. I like spaceships and lasers
>>211409277I disagree fundamentally: they literally just put mines and many, many automated turrets to blast the aperture every time it opens. Iโd have to imagine that the people on the alpha quadrant side would get the idea pretty quick that they shouldnโt send ships through. Besides, if all the dominion is doing is defending their side and alpha quad powers keep sending their ships to attack, that makes them the aggressors. Thatโs a big federation nono
>>211409361answer my question. why give the federation a fair fight? why not send enough ships to destroy the federation the first time?
>>211409448Yeah. DS9 got really dogshit in the last season, and not just because of the Pah'wraiths. It was set up with expectations it wouldn't deliver. I can't really think of an episode I enjoyed more than the one where Garak gets guilty again or the one with baseball.
>>211409474>if any race gets it in their head to start out stripping the dominion they come down hardI'm talking about all the races (out of thousands in the quadrant) that are compliant, productive and contributing members of the Dominion besides the ones the Founders directly control through genetic engineering and breeding. Or are you saying the Dominion has none of those?
>>211409356Found an old forum post of people speculating this, but honestly I don't buy it. She was playing a character woth substance abuse issues. She's an actress. As far as her seeming cracked out in later seasons, this is just something I've straight up never noticed or picked up on at all.

>>211409474so why didnt the dominion come down hard on the federation when they started the war? why did they pussyfoot around with cardassia and inflitrating starfleet brass?
>>211409505if as your retarded theory goes they are trying to develop transwarp tech to come back then no it isn't and you are discounting that by the end of the war all the major powers were in an alliance, not just the feds, they have some very very clever tech in the alpha quadrent, plus all the captured dominion tech. This is just a supposistion but imo their is simply no fukcing way the Dominion could withstand a full on attack by the alpha quadrant, they of course have the advantage of the wormhole but beyond that every major race has a stake in this, in total war scenario after the first dominion war Alpha Quadrant vs Dominion war. In My Opinion, the Dominion is FUCKED
>>211409572they can only send so many ships at one time, you need to actually watch ds9 anon, thats why talking to you makes me feel like I'm talking to an infant, you don't know what you are trying to discuss.
>>211409658what about them? why would you see them more? what we saw was an invasion that means jem hadar vorta and founders, why would they bring the peons?
>>211409738Iโm the other guy, tard, and Iโm just saying the writing is full of logical inconsistencies, plot holes and general shenanigans. If you canโt enjoy it for what it is, sucks to be you
>>211409664maybe watch the show and find out? they always are very careful to analyse and carefully plan they aren't klingons, they needed to know what kind of threat the alpha quadrant was before attacking, why are you you asking these super childish questions?
>>211409909clearly I do and you do not, plus you are trying to find holes where their are none and ignoring the obvious ones that do exist. You idiot.
>>211409835Vorta ARE peons they can do NOTHING except slob Founder knob. they are NOT useful in an invasion scenario of an entire quadrant and yet there they are instead of fucking any race that could bring any actual weapon of war, advanced technology to circumvent the wormhole or knowledge of science and medicine able to cure the Founder aids.
>>211409783thats nonsense and you know it. the wormhole was open for months.
why is there a limit? how many at one time? how long does it take to reset?

>>211409915you said the dominion doesnt fuck around like that. somebody steps out of line and they smack them down immediately. they dont care what kind of weapons or shields they have. just throw a billion jemhadar at them and thats the end of it.
except when it comes to the federation. needed to be careful with that one for no reason.
>>211409980it takes time to put massive fleets together anon, its not like a strategy game or wait even in strategy games it takes time to put massive fleets together. I can't believe this is even a point of discussion. It seems like you are just grasping at w/e straw you can, it doesn't make for a satisfying discussion, it just feels like I'm explaining obvious facts to particularly slow children.

>>211410562>the exception is women. until 2005 it was remarkably honest about women and how they are different from men.People always call Classic Trek dated with how it presented women. Anyone else feel that many trek episodes could have easily been compressed to 20 minutes? I know we harp about nuTrek having a meandering plot - and that's true - but old trek would just have a lot of episodes where the individual scenes take much longer than they need to.
