reminder that your judgment of a movie depends on your mood. if you're in a great mood, bad movies seem good. if you're in a shit mood, good movies seem bad. the reason all of you hate so many movies is because you're all fucking miserable

I watch good movies to make me feel better when I feel bad. OP debunked

I guess everyone was in an amazing mood when the Mona Lisa was painted and mad as fuck about something else when Adolf decided to apply to art school.
Anonymous No.211403686
I can see this applying to music and maybe books and video-games, but I struggle to imagine being unable to appreciate a competently written, acted, and shot film regardless of how shitty I feel. Film watching is a relatively objective experience. Like, if my dog just died, I'm not gonna think "wow, the Mona Lisa is fucking ugly"

truthnuke. also people dont recognize/admit their biases towards art or even worse, claim their biases are correct while othersโ€™ are wrong with regards to the subjective side of filmmaking

good movies make me feel good. bad movies make me feel worse. even depressing movies will make me feel better if they're good. while happy upbeat movies will make me feel bad if they're bad.

all claims about subjectivity of art are seated in the idea (you) can't be wrong.

Nailed it, I cant really find show or movie enjoyable if I don't have something to *enhances your kino*
I think getting too attached to fiction gave me serious mental damage

No, we imagine whats available, get depressed, then are further depressed as we see that we are correct in our biases.

if you really feel like shit you'll look at the mona lisa and think "oh my god who fucking cares"

now ask yourself why you think those movies are good and bad

for an objectively verifiable example of how pretty much the same thing can be great, good, and bad, see don't hug me i'm scared. the youtube videos are great. the television series is good. the scrapped "we want this to be felt southpark" episode is abjectly horrible.

I don't need to. I know why, say, three colors is objectively great. The reasons are in how it successfully executes the intent of the work. As opposed to, say, the seasonal arc crap south park is doing now, which is bad because any good joke is strangled by bad jokes they don't want to let go of.

I'm a big believer that the way you first see a movie has a huge impact on how you feel about it forever
take a mediocre blockbuster for example, nothing egregiously offensive but also nothing really stand out about it
you first see it in an IMAX theater or Dolby Cinema, you're going to rate it differently than if you first watched it on Netflix on your phone

False. I'm a huge fan of bad movies. Samurai Cop, The Room, a lot of the movies the MSTK3/Rifftrax guys mock are comfy and enjoyable enough without the added commentary... But some movies are just bad. For example, 007: Quantum of Solace is just plain bad. The action, the dialogue, the plot the hyper fast editing and shaky camera: all of these elements come together to make the movie an unenjoyable watch. When I'm in a good mood, Samurai Cop makes me smile and laugh, And when I'm in a bad mood it always cheers me up. On the other hand, I could be the happiest man on earth and Quantum of Solace will always be a horrible movie.

I'm emotionally neutral in all things. I'm able to detect whether things are good or bad with machine-like precision.

south park was always hit or miss, but before the seasonal arc shit, the misses were forgotten. now the misses stay around forever, negatively impacting the hits.

Facts don't care if you agree with them or not. "disagreeing" with a statement of fact just makes you look like a petulant child.

that allows for the assertion that anything that pisses you off or even disgusts you is real art.

nah that's bullshit. I was in hospital last year for 2 weeks absolutely dying in agony after breaking every bone in my foot and watching Jason and the Argonauts on repeat because I kept passing out from the morphine is the only thing that made that experience even remotely tolerable.

there is an argument to be made in what OP's saying, it's just that he's a cum slurping faggot as usual so can't articulate it properly
