A lot of actors don't watch the shows they're in because they hate seeing themselves perform, it's like people who don't like hearing their voice recorded, they just hear/see everything wrong with their performance and can't enjoy it because they feel like they could have done better. I almost dropped the show multiple times because meadow's demeanor and educational/professional path was almost 1:1 identical to my younger sister's. It's too fucking close to home. I think I understand what those texans meant when they said that they can't enjoy King of the Hill because every other character in the show is just an uncle or relative or old neighbor

It's why this show is so great, it's an honest appraisal of the family unit from almost every angle. Roseanne got credit for the accurate working class depiction, but Sopranos familial themes transcend class and hit at things we all suffer from.
