People my age were too young enough to have seen TPM when it came out but old enough to see Revenge of the Sith. Revenge of the Sith seemed cool as fuck but I don't think anyone was a fan of TPM. there are a couple of things about the prequels that are objectively good. the cgi at the time was really pushing the technology and looked great, and some of the score was fantastic, nobody will deny shit like duel of the fates wasn't top tier. but that's pretty much it. there were some really good actors wasted with complete nonsense scripts and lazy directing.
