Kevin Smith went on joe rogan's podcast and tried so hard to force a crying segment that he was blacklisted from the show.
I think it was Zack and Miri Make A Porno. Clerks II was such a high watermark, I figured he was able to capture some of that magic and then it went out like a pile of shit on someone's face and Mewes' cock and balls on screen. Then he smoked himself retarded when Seth Rogen introduced him to weed, pissed of Bruce Willis, went on about his wife's brown asshole or taint area or some weird shit, his daughter got ugly but ended up with a thick ol' ass on her, and he's been mostly teasing about doing movies than actually doing them.

Dogma was the last one I kinda actually enjoyed. Mostly felt meh about the rest up until his MOTU stuff. Didn't hate Clerks 2 or Jay & Silent Bob Strike back so much as I just felt absolutely fucking nothing and wasn't even interested. You could tell he was done with even his half-assed version of creativity and was just going to live the meme. Which didn't bother me much because Clerks 1 was fun and all but that was honestly about all I needed of his brand of humor anyway. I was content to just ignore the flanderized version of him.

But the Masters of the Universe thing really chapped my ass because not only was it an intentional bastardization of the original but he basically just lied to everyone's face about his intentions and motives and doubled down even when everyone saw for themselves what it was. He sold out to the globohomo agenda in the most pathetic, limp dick way possible then tried to gaslight the fans because he was too ashamed to admit he followed orders and pushed ((the message)). He was just a boring hack before. Now he's a boring hack who became a shill and a hypocrite. My apathy has been replaced with contempt.

I can really, truly say this is the only director that pisses me off. He is certainly successful, but what has he done with the success? After Clerks, Chasing Amy, etc where he made actual movies, he decides to retread and parody himself. Tusk is an actual cuckold film, the most cucked shit I've ever seen. If he ever makes a decent film, if he ever actually puts in effort, I'll watch it. But he just makes garbage because he is afraid to actually take a chance and make something of worth. He is afraid, deathly afraid, of being ridiculed. He had more worth when he was fat and young than old and skinny. He gave up when he has the resources to make whatever indie film he wants. He could have made a good superhero film, but chooses to suck cock instead. I will never understand this fucking loser, and yes I did laugh at Clerks II. I'm not soulless, but at some point you have to actually try and not fucking coast. He will always be mediocre because of this.
