my entire view on the importance of friendship comes from kirk. they're the family you choose. i don't know why most people are so casual about retaining friendships and so fast to let people drift apart.
>>211449187>i don't know why most people are so casual about retaining friendships and so fast to let people drift apart.About 70% of our species doesn't even have social morality, basically just ravenous wildlife that seek only sustenance and territory by any means necessary. The next 29% or so are "civilized, socially well-adjusted people" which is to say they are the same wildlife but somewhat domesticated and guided by social cultural memes to obtain a few bits and pieces of intellectual comfort and to pretend to have a sense of morality. The last 1% at the fucking most are individuals who can actually have souls, genuine friendships, imagination and a projection of empathy. The last part is also the reason why we call ourselves, the human race, homo sapiens sapiens even though by all clear accounts there are barely any sapients among us. We try to pretend that the rest of the species is human to give their lives meaning and ourselves genuine company, to eliminate the loneliness of self. This is why this last 1% needs an awakened individual who will take matters in his own hands and vaporize the other 99% for the good of humanity, regardless of how savage, brutal and immoral such a mass murder would be. It is the price that must be paid to make the dream we share into reality.

>>211452308ENT fucking sucks. I'm trying to watch it now to give it a chance but it's just awful.
It feels more like it's a soap opera than a Trek show -- the writing is very emotional and not very military. It's like they're all non-military explorers, just friends out for a little adventure together. There's no professional tension aside from the Vulcan stuff which is also just shit and pisses all over their lore and previous representation. The Temporal Cold War story fucking sucks and is a bad attempt at serialization. I know Manny Coto somewhat fixes a lot of this stuff but S1 when it's full on Rick Berman's creative vision is just ghastly -- it is the definition of "boomer TV" at its worst.

Also he said he didn't take enough showers which is why he has Trellium D on him, which is why exposure to Trellium D got T'Pol addicted to Trellium D. Very clever foreshadowing!
you're kind of spamming the thread at this point, man
Beverly says it's actually closer to 12!
now that they cancelled snw is that the end of tv trek?
>>211459383Sadly no. Saved By the Space Bell and Fawlty Nacelles comes next.

>>211461964INSECTOID FUCKING SHITS
>>211459822Unfortunately no. Starfleet Academy and some sort of Tawny Newsome led comedy on a "non-Federation Risa-like planet."
>>211462353Both those concepts feel like they're trying to cram more sex into Star Trek. And yeah, Trek was always a horny, sexy franchise. But it was also something you could watch with your family.
And it's also really tone deaf because studies show people want LESS sex in television, not more.
why does Odo bother giving himself nails
>>211462684What does God need with a starship?
Why contain it? It's cool

>>211463456>can't do faces but can do nails, hair, eyes and a penis
What does God need with a free will universe?

TNG fans โฅ TOS fans > DS9 fans > SNW fans = LD fans ยป VOY fans ยป PRO pedos ยป STD faggots ยป PIC nostalgia monkeys ยปยปยปยปยปยปยป ENT booba coomers
>>211465234I'll easily take the ENT coomers over any nu-trek fan, especially the CalArts Rick and Morty fags.
>>211465333That's because you're probably the ENT coomer. That shit's obnoxious, especially when we can actually discuss some good aspects of ENT. Carbon Creek and The Andorian Incident are genuine kino
>>211465461No, I'm the person that's been calling them out every single day and I've more or less coined the phrase.
Again, I will take them over ANY nu-trek fag.
>>211465461ENT exploring how the Vulcans are actually dicks, and generally hated by other races was great. The Andorians hate them so much that Shran was literally seething around them was fucking great!
>>211465566You can ignore the nufags more easily, coomers are perfidious and relentless because they can't get their pp touched.
>>211466001It also shows why Vulcans, despite being ostensibly superior in every measurable way, couldn't lead the federation. yeah Vulcans are elves, but even the Eldar had the First Age. Vulcans were too arrogant for that.
am I stupid or something or do you not find out who the fake Andorian was working for in Journey to Babel?
>>211467931I just remember they didn't bother coloring that one guy's hands blue in the fight scene
Spock really put Kirk through a humiliation ritual to give his ship away to an incompotent stranger rather than just take command like he was asked to what a fucking snake asshole

What in the actual fuck is this episode
>>211476990My favorite part of that episode is that when the administrator dies his body just sits slumped over on the conference table for the rest episode and the characters just forget about it.

A tier scream in this scene btw, with her husky voice I didn't think she could scream like that.

Hey guys if I've been talking to a chick for a few days and she sent me a snapchat of some black guy she's at a bar with, should I just block her. Or should I say something to her first and then block her. Im honestly really confused as to what her motive was? Its fucking odd behavior
>>211482555>a few daysBlock her. Literally nothing of value is lost, and if you think otherwise remember it's just your genetic drive toward selective reproduction trying to get you killed.

I feel like every distance in space given as kilometers in Star Trek shows should be multiplied by about a million, and then squared.

/trek/, meet me in my ready room -- we have to discuss the next thread.
wasn't go to post but seeing as its a slow thread I'm on EDD-ING-TON, not much to say its a great ep really like it the holo communicator has a story purpose but in a practical sense its pretty stupid
>>211491398maybe an EDD-ING-TON thread?
>>211491398You wanted to see me, Captain?
>>211491575>>211491591I was thinking something racy or controversial. Eddington is good, anon, but I need more options.
Commander Fieri, any ideas?
>>211491575>the holo communicatorthat thing was stupid and correct me if I'm wrong they only ever used it in that one episode
>>211491636one more time same season in dr bashir I presume, thankfully it was retired after that as starfleet deemed it too stupid to exist
>>211491634how about a Janewhey thread
>>211491815I'm not sure about that. The Muscle Coomer delegation doesn't mix well with the crew.
What about a "sex with green women" thread?
Is it feasible, Mr. LaForge?
>>211491890Its doable captain but I'd need at least 20 minutes to reroute the img processors
>>211491973sorry captain you'll have to find someone else I'm in the holodeck working on a uh... a project
