Apparently original Paul quit acting forever during filming. Probably nothing dramatic, just young. They switched in Dano for the scene because PTA has a boner for him. Weird that he doesn’t mention how they’re identical twins though

There is a plot, characters with motivations and deeper meaning behind the actions portrayed in the film as well as it being based on a very interesting time and place in history as well as setting but sure, anon. Go back to the movie about some autistic "businessman" screaming at simpletons about oil and uhhh milkshakes.
