The first two prequels are unwatchable. The third one is laughably bad, but it’s achieved meme status with its fun one liners and the action is fun, which is why it’s considered the best of the prequels. A New Hope is all around a pretty boring movie for the modern age, I get it blew children’s minds back in the 70s but the world isn’t the same place anymore. Empire Strikes Back is genuinely, truly, the only actually good Star Wars movie. Good from a story point, a drama, the dialogue, the action, the effects. It’s a miracle that movie managed to get made. Return of the Jedi is what you’d call a bad movie with great moments, Jabbas palace (not the special edition version) is great and the Throne Room scene is some of the best fantasy cinema of all time. But everything in between is a blur. It’s a blur because it’s awful. The ewoks, Han and Leia in the forest, Lando in the falcon. It’s boring. So yea, there’s only one truly good Star Wars movie and that is Empire.
