Not likely. The last communication from the ship was an apparently routine message about dropping weights. The sound of the implosion was nearly simultaneous with that message. They could have been dropping the weights to abort the dive but they would have probably mentioned that. The titan had some sort of data recorder to record the data from the hull sensors but apparently it was not recovered or was destroyed since they said that data was not available from the last dive.
