>>211510699 (OP) >This was a terrible, terrible tragedy and my heart goes out to their families. We can at least take solace in the fact that they were warned before the implosion occurred that the hull was about to experience catastrophic failure and they were thus fully aware of their imminent and instantaneous deaths, and were actively trying to escape this horrific fate because we know they dropped their ballasts in a futile attempt to frantically ascend to the surface. Pure, visceral fear and helplessness was surely felt by all. In fact, they undoubtedly could acoustically hear the hull delaminating in real time, regardless of the warning system. I can picture it in my brain. Imagine the camera panning up to the 19 year old's face as he looks to his father in their final moments of absolute existential dread. Cut to dolly track close up of Stockton Rush initiating the ballast release function, possibly screaming, we'll have to brainstorm that shot. Cut to outside the vessel with a full view of the implosion, minimal to no music or score playing for full effect. Anyways terrible tragedy heart goes out to families.

>>211510699 (OP) Stockton did nothing wrong Maybe if all the engineers hadn't left the project at every little setback they could've made a safe vessel Couldn't be easy for Stockton to coordinate new teams every few months to finish building one sub
>>211512406 based. hadn't seen this since last year.

so it's all but confirmed that they knew their fate in the minute(s) leading up to the boom. the sounds of the fiber breaking were probably terrifying.
>>211514768 Based from the documentary Stockton probably bullshitted them to the end, telling them it's fine and how it's not his first rodeo and shit.
>>211514768 Probably sucked for everyone else but the old Frenchman clearly didn't give a fuck anymore. He was recently widowed, half senile, and deeply depressed. He WANTED to die by his shipwreck waifu. Guess this was his happy ending

he was just obsessed with joining the likes of Elon, Bezos etc as one of the ''rich geniuses''. he had a lot of money but nothing going for him and thought going to the Titanic would earn him that title
