Just saw it and it was jarring how Hiccup and Astrid are literally just "We haveTom Holland and Zendaya at Home". The cast for the most part was fine but there were some miscasts, they should have brought back Craig Fergeson. The female twin was horrible and I didn't realize who she was until half way through the film. At times Toothless had this uncanny valley aspect to him which really made him creepy to look at.

Overall a perfectly good film. But its nothing above good. The original is better and I feel like they should have done a bit of deviating in order to strengthen the film like change hiccups actions a bit since he's older in the LA than the original. Flying scenes were good.

Nico Parker is a nepo baby, actress mother and director father. If she was the "best" they had, the other nepo babies they had applying for the role couldn't act themselves out of a paper bag. They did not consider searching for a proper blonde haired, blue eyed young actress. End of story.
They hired a quarter-black mutt with nappy dreadlocks. Her hair is an eyesore in every shot.
The movie is fantastic because the cgi dragons are badass and they copied the original story nearly 1:1, not because of Nico's performance or appearance. Americans will say she is "white-passing enough" lol. My condolences to anyone that was hurt because they didn't cast Astrid accurately, and add insult to injury by lying about it.

Having seen it, its genuinly impressive how its a very faithful shot for shot remake but every shot, every delivery, every line, every bit of everything is just worse. Its also longer but the added scenes arent added, just extended and less funny versions of the originals so the pacing is worse. Somehow even the audio mixing is worse so that the excellent soundtrack is worse. Im trying to find a single metric that is at least equal here but jesus christ.
All the sets look worse, all the actors look apathetic at best, its obviously full of nigs and spics in the casting, the ONLY thing I can say is that the actual voice of Hiccup is less grating this time around since the original sounded like Bobby Hill farting into a trombone.
