He wasn't drunk, he was driving on the wrong side of the road. The first officer on the scene had encountered him earlier in the day and gave him a warning about it when he'd pulled into the gas station the cop was sitting in. The cop then gave him directions to the place he was trying to get too and the Broderick still ended up lost. If anything the cop is more at fault than Broderick when you really think about it.
