During the sleep cycle, your theta waves put your brain into a passive easily suggestible state. Being able to reproduce this state in a waking human being creates a human being who is easily suggestible and can be tricked into anything. That's why animefags are like that. Also why the 20th century fundamentalists were right, Pokemon cartoons were satanic, because sometimes your brain tries to shift back into a normal awake wave state, and that's part of what triggers a seizure. Basically, epilepsy is your body's last-ditch effort to avoid being brainwashed.
Japs do this best in video games, that's why there's always a bajillion number fireworks flashing all over the screen, but America uses it in movies too, hence why the Marvel/Michael Bay era of superfast edits and a million colors has never left us.
