None of the sequels live up to the original in any way but JPIII is the only one that really captured that fun adventure feel again. The set pieces are great and it has a good pace. I'm hoping Rebirth is sort of JPIII 2.0 as Dominion was a bloated slog.

There's something to be said about Jurassic Park 3 in how, despite being not that great, it still felt like it belonged. How it felt "Jurassic."
You really can't say the same for any of the World films.

I've always liked Jurassic Park 3, despite the fact that it's what I like to call, a "White Trash movie". White trash movies are typically good, even to great, but they are so predictable, kitschy, and low IQ in execution, they are most popular among white trash communities because of how low engagement they are for you to be able to enjoy them.

The way it snapped its neck made zero sense, especially when T-Rex had stronger jaws and bit him first. It was a stupid scene, put into the film because one of the advisors on the film was an autistic spinosaurus fag who considered it the "real" apex predator, despite it primarily being a shallow water hunter, and not much else.

I would have been absolutely fine with the Spino killing the T-Rex by using its arms and by being more intelligent if it hadn't been for that bullshit part where the T-Rex gets its jaws around its neck first. At that point there's just no way anything walks away without massive wounds that it'll bleed out from. Just show off the Spino's superior hunting capabilities by having it stage an ambush on the T-Rex like how Siberian tigers kill bears or something like that and it's fine.

My point is more that as a filmmaker I find how they chose to do it very underwhelming. Like if I was the director and I read this part of the script my response would probably be
>waking up on an empty plane seems like a dream that would indicate a fear of loss of control and a belief that you can only rely on yourself
>however, I don't think that quite fits with Grant's character
>perhaps instead he could wake up in the wreckage of the plane, and as a raptor begins to enter the plane he's woken by "Alan"
>this would speak more to his fears of being caught in a disaster that leads to being preyed upon by the raptors

They designed the spino off the current scientific consensus, it even works in universe because they could literally design the animal to look and behave like what they thought, not what actually was

The neck snap IS stupid, but as stupid as every dude strangling a guy and then breaks his neck in every single action movie ever stupid, so itโ€™s hardly a good argument unless youโ€™re going to argue for every neck snap

Waking up in a wreckage already implies disaster though. The empty shaky plane works better here to imply the anxiety of the animals and being the only one taking it seriously. Alan doesnโ€™t even feel safe from the raptors at 40.000 feet because heโ€™s that traumatised about their behaviour in JP1. If the plane is crashed and the Raptors are rummaging through the plane in the dream theyโ€™re behaving like literally any other animal on earth, it couldโ€™ve just as well been a bear or tiger. The raptors on the plane IN the air before disaster plays to his fear of their INTELLIGENCE

So itโ€™s a good thing you donโ€™t direct movies because you donโ€™t understand the character, the scene, the animals nor human behaviour.

I fundamentally disagree with your interpretation of the thematic elements and feel these interpretations stretch things a bit too far to try and be coherent. That being said, I also find putting this scene here is a poor choice, and would have moved it earlier to a scene where Grant might have this dream while at home. Gives us another chance to have a scene to reinforce his relationship with Ellie as well.

You can backtrack all you want but youโ€™ve already spilled your spaghetti

But yes the plane scene is bad, because it plays as comedic relief instead of instilling horror

Now that i think back, does he think this? The Kirbys assure him that they'll only be doing a flyover and that this is all above board with the governments involved. They specifically seek him out and say so as much because they value his input as he had experience. None of that really fits by my read of the ideas you're advocating

Iโ€™ve never found ScarJo hot. Nothing wrong with her but I was never into her. BDH is the hottest Jurassic Park girl and no one will ever compare.

Yeah but only her all-business look from the first JW, it all went downhill from there.

Bad script with too many useless characters making bad choices for the sake of plot points. Has some good set pieces like the aviary and the Rex in San Francisco.

Alan knew what was specifically on InGen's list of officially cloned dinosaurs, maybe they had pictures?
A JP1 raptor would've worked better, though.

There's waterparks with wavepools all over the place just to make pools more fun but these fuckers can't build a similar wave-creator for all their boat scenes??
