Mutts aside this does bed the question of whether they appear only in a flash forward or is the frog leaf is changing so much that going into the movie we already have them born and alive and Chani dies some other way. I do anticipate they will throw elements of Children into the movie, like Alia being possessed by the Baron - gives the movies a villain in all three and if Alia dies and it's only the children to inherit the throne before Paul goes into the desert then there is more of a sense of finality.
