Without the Superman grift he's just a 40 something year old balding washed up actor. All of his movies have been a flop. I can't think of one movie where he starred alone that surpassed 1 billion. Directors are scared to cast him because he sucks; just a pretty face.
His acting was wooden, he was a horrible Superman. His Clark Kent disguise was a joke; didn't even bother to change his haircut or posture.
The only reason why MoS worked was because he barely spoke in that movie.

He was only meant for one role: James Bond. By some 1 to 1 billion fluke chance, he didn't get it. He's now stuck chasing the next best thing which he never seems to get right. It's rather tragic.

He would've been a horrible Bond. In men from UNCLE he basically played a character that is similar to Bond and it was still wooden. His acting is just bad. People can't relate with him, he looks too perfect and the bad acting doesn't help. People were able to relate with Daniel's Bond because he looked like a normal dude.

I think he came to conclusion he isn't going to be big movies'sain star, so he shifted his priorities to family life and WH40k showrunning, fitting some fun projects in between.
I'd like him to play a couple villain roles for a change, I bet he will find his popularity back.

He's honestly too muscular to be James Bond. James Bond's greatest strengths are his charisma, wit, and gadgets, not his physical strength. Having a guy that muscular in a main role where his strength isn't important would just look weird, outside of a comedy or a romance movie where his size is just there to facilitate female sex fantasies.

Daniel Craig was a bad fit for James Bond because Bond's look is crucial to the character. Craig looks like a Bond villain, not James Bond himself. Cavill would have to slim down a lot to fit the look for James Bond and then he'd have to maintain that new size for years, I think ultimately it would do more harm than good for his career and image to do that, a big part of Cavill's brand is being muscular and handsome.
