I love how the cinematography reinforces the film's central message about the importance of beauty. Even some of the film's shortcomings (like the occasionally clunky and awkward dialogue) don't really matter because of how fucking good it looks - reinforcing Refn's autistic obsession with beautiful images.

The true quality of a film is the average between the audience score and the critic score. For example, Uncut Gems would be a 71% (i.e. pretty good). It's a very simple equation, and I defy you to tell me a movie where this equation doesn't work
