This is the best thing I've ever watched. Television or film. The amount of emotional catharsis present in the finale is staggering. This isn't a hidden gem, it's a hidden goldmine. It's a stone-cold masterpiece of serialized storytelling. The way the first and last episode connect is sublime.

If you weren't interested to see how it plays out after the bombshell twist at the end of the first episode, it's probably not going to be up your alley. Nothing wrong with that necessarily, everyone has different tastes but for me by episode 3 I was glued to the screen

The Shield literally takes seven seasons before Vic gets so caught red-handed for all of the shit he pulled but it actually works and in fact there's more catharsis and pay off in the latter's case.
