Pre-Way of Water it was taking so long that there was some doubt that any Avatar sequel would ever truly be released, so the countdown poster was trying to keep our faith alive.
After Way of Water came out and performed the way it did, the other sequels became a solid guarantee and the countdown threads were no longer needed
