Part of the reason the WP1 transitions were so good was because they were short and sweet, and they hard cut in and out of them. They served as good punctuation for the sketches and carried a lot of momentum into the next. The way they're edited in now sucks and they're a bit too long. The direction of the show in general took a hit. No opinion on the bits themselves.

Unironically I think Happy World Daddy was extremely good. It had such a cool aesthetic to it. It was like Sam at his most fully deranged. That cool underground feeling, felt like Sam coming back out of his shell to make some of the most intentionally-crazy sketches ever (hassles, virtual reality hell, mirror videos again, animal petting zoo,) just wild funny shit.

Extreme Peace seems to be made out of spite. Self-indulged mess with terrible pacing and no unique soundtrack or transitions. HWD transitions were incredible too

i've been watching MDE since Ideas Man dropped on the ORIGINAL youtube channel. i found them through CBoyardee.

this episode (and every high value sketch they've dropped on the gumroad) was genuinely so disappointing. the fact that the gumroad login doesn't even work is unacceptable. i just canceled my grandfathered gumroad subscription because of it.

i'm not really sure what/who else is carrying the spirit of that early 2010s internet humor. is it completely eradicated? what was the energy that can't be put back into the bottle? i don't think i've just grown up and have different taste now. there's a fever, hunger, and raw elation in things like WP season 1 and even "how to bomb" that no one else has ever come close to, even in a derivative fashion or straight up copying. now the originators of that energy have lost it.

watched it before reading any comments on it, going in blind I felt like the sketches were drawing too much from the original (moms, wall show, one people), this isn't a good thing as it takes away the surprise factor and punch the original had.
A bunch of the jokes I don't think land as they hoped.
Funniest part was the guy describing how he was gonna eat pussy and seeing charls reaction, Erick was also really funny.

The VFX animations saved it for me, would've made it better if there were walls of text and more hidden jokes.

I'll only make up a more solid opinion once I see episode 2 and 3, I really hope those are better. However as it stands, if lined up with the episodes from the original season this would be the weakest one.

Honestly preferred Happy World Daddy to this, they should cram more shit in, make us wonder what's coming up next, is it going to be a short 30 second funny clip? a standalone one and a half minute sketch that isn't interrupted by vex in the middle? that sort of thing.

Nonetheless, I think the saddest part is that none of the sketches will be relevant enough to be remembered and talked about in 10 years. I think that was the magic of the first one, short sketches that were heavily cut due to time limits and we were left to wonder the meaning of etc. These feel VERY forgettable, but I don't think anyone is currently to blame for it. Sam made funny stuff on his own during these past few years, a lot were misses but a lot was also comedy gold. Alex, although not my favorite comedian, also has very memorable work he made himself. I don't understand how this episode turned out so crappy, but I hope they crammed all the nostalgia bait on this one and move on in the 2nd one, maybe the old bit compilation symbolizes this.

If anyone from the team is reading this, no I couldn't do better, but I really hope this is a (knowingly) weak episode and that the next ones will surprise us.
