This is the answer, the gov funding body wants two things out of funded entertainment either something that makes the outback look awesome or an unironic DEI/virtue signal checklist shit as much as I loathe the term. Idk why they want to make the outback look cool, I guess tourism but it's clearly not fucking working because no one wants to fucking go there unless it's to Alice Springs AND EVEN THEN not many.
