Seconded. The Shield is an HBO primetime show that HBO, in a moment of temporary insanity, turned down and it had to air on FX. If you like The Sopranos, no reason in hell why you wouldn't eat The Shield up. Same exact character beats and episodic nature.

this if you havent seen it, also Justified is really good even if it comes off as schlocky at first really gets going after first 5 or 6 eps (theres a cringe nazi ep but that does not represent the show)
