>There are actual, real people who skip the therapy scenes in The Sopranos
>>211688198 (OP)No one does that, Melfi is a cute
How about the fact that I hate my shon?
>>211688198 (OP)After the first couple seasons they can safely be skipped, they kind of run out of ideas and itโs mostly just Tony summarizing what happened in the last scene and whining about it
>>211688198 (OP)And the wife scenes and the anyone talking to their families scene and the sopranos kids scenes
First season I watched straight through, and boy, did it suck.
Remember when the therapist got raped for no reason and then that whole plot thread languished and then disappeared?
I am one. My last rewatch I skipped each and every shot from Melfi's office and the vast majority of her life. I skipped nothing else. What did I miss? (Except for Tony's thoughts, the origins and consequences of which I comprehend long before the upstanding Italian shrink reiterated them with middle-school counselor-level analysis.)
Melfi's scene with him after they kill Pussy is incredible, she's been internally cracking under the pressure of trying to treat him, the entire season she's degrading both personally and professionally, but she snaps back into focus for that scene. She intuitively knows something's wrong, presses the issue, deftly maneuvers through his bullshit ("Boy, you threw that at me like a rock") and eventually forces him to walk out, as, of course, Tony has just crossed an event horizon and is completely incapable of ever going back to a time when he could entertain the idea of engaging with her honestly.
Great shit. Love the sopranos
>>211690272I just realized this is hilarious
the entire show is about those scenes idk how anyone lives like that
>>211690513>whole plot thread languished and then disappearedum... no? it was pretty soundly resolved with her "no" to involving tony.. i'd say the character herself languished, after this point and to the end of the series
>>211690513Melfi had correctly identified Tony as a sociopathic grifter and was about to drop him as a client right before the rape. The rape devastates her emotionally to such a degree that she seeks comfort in Tony's power and loses sight of her ascertainment of his sociopathy until the series finale. It's pretty integral to the show.
>>211688198 (OP)we call them "mental midgets" around here
>>211688198 (OP)most of the sopranos is shit. i hate all the therapy scenes, the dream sequences and shit. by the time i reached the end, i realized i was just watching a mafia themed soap opera with no interesting story.
>>211690417you are speaking shit to me
>>211688198 (OP)I've never skipped anything but I think the next time I watch the show I'll skip the pilot and A Hit is a Hit. Those are easily the two worst episodes.
>>211691487Can probably safely skip D-Girl, too, maybe the ben kingsley episode, but I've watched the show like seven times over by now
>>211688198 (OP)I just skip sopranos altogether, because it's a badly written show that only retards like.
>>211688198 (OP)I have tried to watch Sopranos trice but every time got bored opening therapy session.
>>211691185He doesn't enunciate words that well. do better next time.
>>211691331>>211691331one of the best scenes of all time. perfectly made
>>211691266But that has no bearing on anything other than her feelings.
Her whole plot where she gets goaded by her husband/colleagues/her own therapist into realizing she's a dumb whore turned on by evil faggots because they're "powerful" is just there to create a narrative crisis of oh no the most boring and repetitive and ironically least insightful scenes of this show are going to end....for them to abandon that plot thread to create a sensationalist random rape untied to the general karma and cyclical nature of things narrative, only for her to then fester and seethe about it so she has more repetitive sessions with Tony which they could have just done anyways by not creating her terrible D-plot conflict about treating him, which she also doesn't do because any actual progress wouldn't give him a reason to sit and bitch about no progress and rehash the same things over and over
"muh Chickentown" is not a fresh narrative that needed to be hammered in further by that point in the series
>>211693539>>211693539Filtered, I'm smart because I like it and you just didn't get the deeper meaning of it.
>>211693539Does this guy ever stop busting balls?
>>211693628>>211693628EYY maroonnn, i have no counterarguments either. He's such an afangulo
>>211691487>>211691555Christopher and boca are crap, too.
>>211688198 (OP)He would have gotten whacked for going to the shrink.
I skip the dream sequences
>>211693786What do I mean? I mean get a job before your neighbor smells your rotting corpse you NEET fuck!
I skip everything that ISN'T a therapy scene
I skipped all the girlfriend scenes in Whiplash because they were gay. Did not ruin my experience at all.
>>211691555hate the whole episode but the ending is literally one of my favorites
>>211688198 (OP)Depends if I'd had a wank or not.
>>211694621is there truly some kind of star wars prequel connection
this and the vito in the arena are sus
They're either too dumb to appreciate them or don't like what they're hearing
What was the purpose of meadowโs roommate?
>>211688198 (OP)>actual, real people who skip the therapy scenesThose aren't people, they're zoomers or brown
The therapy scenes are cheap as fuck exposition.
>hurr let's have the main character actually say his inner thoughts, motivations and conflicts out loud!
Definition of hack writing that treats the viewer like a retard. Which says a lot about fans of the show.
>>211693539i hope you've never complained about all the hot bitches throwing themselves at tony and the rest.
My dad mentioned watching The Sopranos again but said he wished he could "skip all the boring Melfi shit". It took so much restraint to not call him a pleb right there.
>>211697519Your dad is 100% correct.
>>211697656you're a pleb. it's the entire point of the show
>>211690513kid scenes are something I could accept skipping
all six seasons theres literally 0 good AJ plots
>>211696143Even if that's true, the acting/chemistry between Melfi and Tony are entertaining to say the least
>>211691555first half of S5 is pretty trash, the feech la manna plot and sopranos divorce just doesnt cut it
>>211698030i agree that season 5 is pretty dog shit if you have seen it enough. i guess it was a total shitshow writing it and why it's so sloppy with Tony B and a lot of the newcomers.
