It's a book about a guy named Billy Milligan, the book is sensationalised but the guy is real, he was arrested on several charges of robbery and rape and was acquitted in court when it turned out he had a multiple personality disorder.
The book is more or less non-fiction but still sensationalised, the mini-series (Crowded Room) is even more sensationalised and blown out of proportion.
My mother seems to like the book cause this type of literature bout crazy people is female catnip.
