The real issue is that since WW2 allowed women to enter the workforce en masse, companies have lowered wages to the point where the understanding is that two adults are meant to enter a union and provide income. Really a single income should be enough to support an entire family, in which case women are incentivised to find a man and take care of the home, and if for whatever reason a man can't ever find a woman who will stay with him, the consolation prize is that by just working a simple job you end up with fuck tons of money and can live a comfortable life, travel, have hobbies, buy pointless crap, all of which would stimulate the economy.
