it's an okay movie. it would be a generic coming of age movie, but it follows a handful of storylines that each of the characters weave thru. it has a pulp fiction feel to it. mechanically it's an amazing film piece

I agree but the capturing of that particular moment in time is perfectly done. The casting is good. Movie is somewhat dull in certain story arcs (the abortion arc really brings it down without adding much) but it's a perfectly fun watch otherwise. Love the way it encapsulates the peak of "Valley" culture. Must have been an incredible time and place to grow up.
