This show is the culmination of a decade of Bethesda being a garbage company. Bethesda ruined fallout by their misunderstanding of it as a zany old timey world of irony and silly references to the 50s, and Amazon as seen in The Rings of Power really don't give a shit about any ips, so the reddit humor was turned up to the max.
Now they're going to ruin New Vegas too and we'll never get a good movie in this setting because it has been reduced to old timey songs and nuka cola. I understand how Star Wars fags feel now.

It would be fine to write some shit stories, but now every company is committed to maintaining their “cannon”. That isn’t to say avoiding contradictions, just that they will never simply ignore their contributions to the franchise (unlike the Godzilla movies or the Halloween franchise, where they might make direct sequels to previous films and ignore other sequels). This means every future Star Wars project has to acknowledge the sequels, and every future Fallout has to acknowledge Bethslop. It would be better if writers could just ignore certain parts, otherwise even a well maintained franchise will turn shit due to sheer entropy.

bro there were a couple jokes and easter eggs in 2. Even Fallout one had some humor with low intelligence characters but the overral tone was very much desolate. The first thing you see is the execution of a POW and every single ending is bad one way or another.

It's a future of the 50s. There's nothing overly 50s in the future of 1 and 2 other than the 50's idea of energy weapons. The world moved on. Most references to the 50s is in the ads in the little tv in the beginning, which shows the past.
The problem is bethesda took what was "what the 50's think a post apoc society looks like" and made it "what if the 50s had future technology". It's supposed to be the skeleton of the old world, not permeate every facet of the new one. New vegas is excusable because the strip was untouched by the bombs, but even then it goes too far with the dumb elvis gangs.
New fallout wouldn't even understand the legion. They'd think they just found pictures of rome and started copying it like the khans and the elvis gang

Movies, television and music are no longer about the artists vision or creating a product that people that the public will enjoy.
They are about feeding an endless conveyor belt of slop to as many people as humanly possible. It doesn't matter if the product is good, it matters that the product exists as new content.
