People seem to like the ATJ portion of the film the most, and while the father/son bond was alright, and that portion of the movie was intense... it wasn't jaw dropping amazing either. The family drama that is the catalyst for the film is meh. The whole journey to the doctor never felt that gripping. The mother/son relationship didn't touch me at all, and I have liked plenty of mother/son type films. The morality of how ATJ vs the Doctor vs the Saville gang treat the infected infected is uninteresting.

There just isn't much to really like about it.
