>Max doesn't tell Goofy that he has a date next saturday so that the road trip can be delayed
>Goofy doesn't tell Max about the principal phone call or that he's aware that he just did something big at school
>despite Roxanne liking Max, she still tells him that he's going to the party with someone else after Max tells him he can't go to the date because of his dad "is into a stupid father/son kick" (Max doesn't even say that it's a road trip to fish at an Idaho lake)
>Roxanne doesn't notice that Goofy's car parked outside her house is full of luggage (which is evidence that Max isn't inventing an excuse to not go out with her)
>Max lies to Roxanne about him and Goofy going to the L.A concert because the latter used to play with Powerline (instead of saying something believable like that Goofy is taking him to the concert because he knows how much a fan Max is)
>for no reason whatsoever, Max tells Roxanne that he will join Powerline on-stage and wave at her (she already said that she wouldn't go to the party with someone else, so it was pointless to add a promise to the lie)
>Roxanne is gullible enough to believe Max's obvious lie (it only requires common sense to know that he isn't being honest about where he's going)
>random Bigfoot encounter that doesn't get any closure (Max and Goofy escape from him off-screen and the subject is never mentioned again)
>Max changes the map route so that Idaho is skipped and so that L.A is the final destination, expecting Goofy to fall for it
>in the gap between Max changing the map and Goofy letting Max be the navigator, Goofy didn't realize that the map was changed
>Pete and PJ unrealistically run into the Goofs during the journey twice (once at a forest and the other at a random motel) just for the sake of moving along the story a bit
>Max and Goofy somehow make it to the concert in the nick of time, despite the long distance, all the stops they made along the way, and losing their vehicle

Rubbish storyline

It's boring unless you're a girl, admittedly well made.
>Pocahontas
Shitty, not because of muh historical inaccuracies but because it's just completely unremarkable aesthetically or in its story
>Hunchback of Notre Dame
Tonal mess, when it's serious it's one of the best animated films in history, when it's comedic / light it can get pretty bad
Rest is mostly better than A Goofy Movie, sure. Although personally I am not a fan of Tarzan, just never connected with the central romance and it often felt like the movie is generally trying too hard. I also don't like Phil Collins, call me contrarian or Trey Parker but I just never enjoyed his production, all his songs sound too loud and "cramped"

>Max invites Roxanne to the party at school
>less than one hour later, Max shows up at her house (with Goofy's car full of visible luggage parked nearby) to tell her that he can't go because his father is "into a stupid father/son kick"
>she says that it doesn't matter because it's just a dumb party
>Max makes it clear that he really wanted to go with her
>She tells him that she understands because those things happen.... but that she is still going to the party with someone else
>Max lies to her by saying that his father is taking him to Powerline's concert in L.A
>Roxanne points out the obvious ("your dad's taking you clear across the country just to see a concert?")
>Max tells another lie (after clearly struggling to come up with an answer) by saying that they're going because Goofy knows Poweline since they used to play together in a band
>despite the complete lack of evidence, Roxanne falls for the lie
>Max asks her if she isn't thinking of still going to the party with someone else
>Roxanne begins to answer ("Well I guess-")
>Max interrupts her by adding a promise to the lie: that he and Goofy will join Powerline on-stage for the final number and that he will also wave at her
>Max and Roxanne say goodbye to each other and the road trip begins
