Easy. Nuke Paris. If the military acted quickly enough, they could've had just enough time to the point where the virus was contained to one large population center and they could just nuke it and or napalm the shit out of it and contain the spread of the virus.

This is what they did in Weeks to London and it mostly worked. The reason spread like it did in Britain the first time around is because nobody knew what was going on and so the government simply didn't act quickly enough.

Ironically it spreading to a bunch of smaller villages in Britain is what caused the virus to get out of control, allowing it to spread like wildfire between other towns and villages and eventually into the big cities. But this time around at the end of Weeks people would've immediately known what was going on and would've have the chance to act quickly, especially given that only one major population center (Paris) was being affected.
