Why didn't they just put extra layers of carbon fiber around the sub after each dive?
Why didnโt they just wear carbon fibre clothing and swim to the titanic?
>>211797419Why didn't they just swim to the surface when the submarine stopped working, like just hold your breath for a bit wtf
>>211797358Stockton was broke after shelling out the big bucks for a wireless RGB mouse.
Why didnโt they just listen to the white male engineers who were only interested in the safety of the vessel?
horrible death
captain always dies with the ship
>>211796679Before that I swear it was a PS3 controller
>>211799440he used a playstation controller before but it was a fake one
>>211796591 (OP)>>211796679This never would have happened if he had used a real controller
imagine rush was somehow still alive down there. I dont know how, but like he made it to an air bubble in titanic with a rare algae that replinishes air and he survive by venturing out and grabbing marine life to eat.and eventually they rescue him. Imagine hoe fucking kino itll be when they take him to the surface with all the media and shitstorm surrounding it all
>>211796679"le controller" is such a midwit talking point. Video game controllers are used in the military because surprise surprise they're ergonomic and control well
>>211796679they wouldnt have drowned if they used this bad boy
If you made a finner version of his wife after hearing the implosion, nothing would change
>>211801725Nobody gives a fuck poindexter
will titan's downfall be more legendary than the titanic in the the future? it feels like it to me
>>211801725but are they used to control submarines?
>>211801725Yeah I'm sure it felt very ergonomic in their hands before igniting to the temperature of the sun in a thousandth of a second.
>>211801725the adults are talking here, take a hike bud
>>211797419because then he couldn't charge them 250k to go on his lousy submarine

Should have used a Wii U Pro controller with a wireless usb 8bitdo adapter like me.

This entire story is about privilege
>>211801725yeah they fly rc drones and eod disposal bots that cost a couple thousand dollars at most xbox controllers
but do you see planes with consumer grade construction that'll last 2 years at most before the rubber and soldering deteriorate?
tbf they had backup controllers
For me its being the kid who's dad took him in this thing. Cant imagine how shit that must have been. If you're the dad you've basically killed your son, if youre the kid your idiot dad just got you killed. In one of the most terrifying ways to boot. I know a lot of people warned Stockton but really they should have been screaming it from the rooftops and being more proactive rather than just telling him via email. Only consolation is I presume they died instantly
>POP
>>211804872god i wish mr. beast would have taken the offer and died
>>211804872if it was a newly constructed submersible and there was a cash prize of a billion dollars, i would do it.
>Be named Stockton Rush
>Die in homemade Submarine accident
It really was fate.
We shoulda let Elon rescue those kids
>>211797419this. I have some carbon fibre shirts and they're heavy but breathability.
>>211805215>alternate universe where Stockton Rush personally pilots a submarine to that Thai cave to save those children >doesn't take no for an answer and goes in (Musk too beta to do this)>the children all die as the submarine implodes with the force of 20 black holes
>>211805119survival of the fittest
The issue at hand isn't the cheap logitech controller but rather the sub being a monstrosity. A veritable carbon fiber, resin and glue lasagna submersible who's structural strength depended on the glue instead of the carbon fiber.
Just a few actual dives grinded the glue into dust untill the layers of carbon fiber started to freely rotate independently.
>Submarine ended up pointing straight downward and the ballast got activated
My grandpa fought in WW2 in the navy and apparently if you so much as chewed your fingernails they would deem you mentally unfit for submarine duty. Even back then they knew they couldn't have you freaking the fuck out down there when you realize you're trapped in a tin can hundreds of feet below the sea with no way out.
You just know that one of the tourists who wasn't used to submarines lost his shit, there was a fight over the controller, and it got busted in the ensuing scuffle which caused their demise. There's a reason the navy puts you through rigorous physical and mental training to be a submariner and they don't just hire pudgy middle-aged guys off the street.
>>211805521Jelly? More like tomato soup
>>211796591 (OP)In the vids there are literally fish swimming around down there. Why didn't they just equalize the atmospheric pressure in side the sub with the depth so the net pressure would be zero? You could then literally make the sub out of thin plastic. Why isn't anyone talking about this?
>>211806193>Why didn't they just equalize the atmospheric pressureI think that one sorted itself out
None of this happened unless you believe there are billionaires that have no record of existing prior to being in this event.
It was created to gauge public opinion on the rich. I haven't seen anyone care about their deaths at all, opinions are mixed between celebration and indifference.
>>211806193No living creature that isnโt biologically designed for that pressure could handle it. Youโre not too far off of a general concept seen in 99% of serious submersibles though, which is that the crew are kept in an air/water-tight sphere of titanium or steel but the rest of the body of the craft is left mostly open to equalize with the ocean. This saves weight immensely and means you only have to worry about keeping the crew sphere sealed.
>>211806193>there are vids
>>211806478There's an estimated 3,000 billionaires in the world, I doubt you could name more than ten.
>>211806478>Stockton RushNobody could have such a comically AI-generated billionaire name and be an actual person
>>211796591 (OP)>the wreckage of the imploded sub is right next to the Titanic>there are now TWO exhibits down therebased billionaire retard turned the ocean floor into a museum

>>211797358It wasn't the carbon fiber hull itself that failed, even though it was retarded, but the interface point between the carbon fiber cylinder and the metal hemispheres at the ends. They literally drilled into the carbon fiber to mount those. It's actually a miracle that it could even make so many dives before failing and it was thanks to the one guy that Stockton fired because he called him out on being a retard, then threw the logitech at the guy's head
>>211804872it looks like he's levitating
>>211797419you obviously failed physics class dude
The amount of seasoning you need for smaller amounts of carbon fiber goes up exponentially
you could never properly season a carbon fiber suit
>>211796679the dumbest fucking complaint possible. what is wrong with using a controller exactly?
>>211809391It just shows an overall lack of seriousness. Would you get in an airplane someone was piloting with an off brand controller?

They need to convert the Titanic to an underwater hotel
>>211806193I think its like, thousands of atmospheres of pressure. Do you envision it actually working out fine if you squeezed thousands of times more air then normal into an enclosed space containing humans, no matter how gradually? I don't know the science but it still feels to me like you'd pop like a berry. Or the tissues in your lungs leading into your bloodstream would disintigrate as you force so many more molecules through them with each breath.
>>211809331you just need to find the right combination of herbs and spices
>>211806193Your body gets cut up by the extreme atmospheric pressure, and you die from extreme pain.

>>211809616They literally use video game controllers in NASA. It's not easy to make good controllers by yourself and you're much more likely to fuck it up than an established industry.
>planeThe difference is that planes come from an existing industry so they have had decades to do this. A sub isn't. It makes no difference using a plane controller or a game controller there; the worst that could happen is to make one up of your own.
When i bought my friend a Logitech controller and he spit on my face and then we played Vice City...

If I was on that sub it wouldn't have gone down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood inside that sub. The same amount.
i remember when this happened titanic became the number 1 movie on netflix that week
>>211805163Stockton Rush could have died a hero had he taken out the antichrist
If I was down there and knew I was going to die because of this dipshit's incompetence and my own stupidity because I listened to him, I think I'd try to kill him out of pure rage. Like, I'm going to die at the bottom of the ocean when I should have just said no. Think about the last time you fucked up BAD. It makes you want to drink until you puke and then kill yourself. If I knew I was gonna die down there I would have to just start freaking out and trying to kill him
