Velma and NuTrek are like in so many respects. They made a Scooby Doo show without Scooby Doo, can you believe that? Alex Kurtzman made 7 (SEVEN!) NuTrek shows without any star trekking! I forced myself through the first season of Discovery. Ugh! They start right off with a parallel universe plot, which shows usually only resort to near the end when they've completely run out of good ideas. Then everybody cries, constantly. Starfleet isn't for wusses! Talk about breaking immersion. It was in the first broadcast of that episode. After a public uproar, it was removed from later broadcasts, and all copies were purged from Paramount's library. Fortunately, there are old-timers like me that used to videotape TV shows, so I still had the original.
