It wasn’t horrific, but it was a mess with serious pacing issues and no real sense of what it wanted to be as a film. As a cinema goer i can absolutely see that Garland and Boyle have spent 23 years trying to figure out what to do with the franchise because it presents itself as an amalgamation of random shower thoughts over the past two decades at the expense of a coherent narrative. 7/10.

I watched a camrip. It just wasn't all that great, I don't even care about the jimmy shit at the end, the premise and the movie itself did not interest me all that much, the characters weren't interesting either, and the entire premise of them being trapped / quarantined on the island is ridiculous as well.

28 weeks later wasn't a perfect movie but if I were to re-watch any of these films I would much rather watch that or the first one than this. Much more interesting plot, better acting, better characters, far more shit happening. This was boring trite, the "alpha" infected were cringe. The infected in general are very stupid and they would never survive winter walking around naked all the time, they would literally just freeze. They can't build fires, they can only "hunt" what they can catch with their bare hands since they have no tools. How would they even get drinking water just to stay alive in winter? It's just biological nonsense. Also it retcons the first movie where the zombies basically began to starve within a few days. If the virus makes them hyperactive and allows them to run extreme distances and speeds and whatnot, it would mean their bodies are constantly burning a fuck ton of energy, meaning these zombies would need to be endlessly consuming calories just to stay alive. They would be disease and parasite ridden from a diet that only contains raw meat.

28 weeks later also ended with the virus in Paris spreading all over Europe, and yet they just said nope the world dealt with it then and contained it in the UK again for some reason.

Also, why were a bunch of swedish sailors that shipwrecked on the Island wearing tactical gear and shit? Just the entire movie is a silly and dumb premise. Why wouldn't they even try to find a way to communicate with survivors in a village that is literally off the coast too? Maybe they won't let them back into the mainland but seriously they could drop off supplies and shit.

Most of the movie is loosely told from the perspective of a 12 year old boy who has lived his entire life sheltered on a remote island just off the mainland. And then another 28 days after the crash, rescue in the hospital, and until they made the sign for the plane. At which point you see the infected finally starting to starve.

So all in all around 62 days, or 2 months.

In 28 Weeks later it is stated that it took 5 weeks for them to starve, and all in all, Britain was declared free of infection after 18 weeks.
