>>211859866This one is an interesting story. Remember the Aqua Teen Hi ger Force Boston Bomb scare? It has to do with that.
Basically, most of Cartoon Network's success was due to one man, Jim Staples. Not only did he pioneer most of the original programming for CN's golden years, but he was the main reason Space Ghost: Coast to Coast and, by proxy, Adult Swim, came to be.
With Cartoon Network sitting solidly in first for children's cable rankings AND having a strong foothold in late night entertainment, CN was on top of the world.
Then, they announced an Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie. And they hired some guys to viral market it.
This leads to the ATHF Boston Bomb scare. Despite Jim Staple's success, he took the grenade for CN and took the blame himself, leaving the company. With a major vacuum in the driving force of their creative executives, a man named Stuart Snyder stepped in to Staples' role and said "what if we did REAL PEOPLE?"
So basically, Cartoon Network's slow death was due to people from Boston being fucking morons.
