Because there's very few pieces of lost media that disappeared for interesting reasons (censorship, troubled production, etc.), so these communities fill their time with boring lost media until something interesting pops up. Most of the lost media youtube channels are some guy placing spooky music and analog horror editing over some kid's cartoon episode that's lost because nobody gave a shit about the show.
